small but nice, and convenient to highways

Nice affordable hotel for short stays, or for those who are more interested in convenience. This is not the place for those who need a lot of room or a lot of amenities. The room is small, but nice. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast includes a choice of hot or cold meals a la carte pricing. I had the french toast and a yogurt. My husband had scrambled eggs and a fruit cup. I liked the fact that I could get the breakfast to go. Both our meals were fine. There are also a few restaurants in walking distance of the hotel, including an Italian restaurant. Checkout was easy with carts accessible and fast checkout. Parking was free and was able to park right near the main entrance. Golden Coral was not too far driving distance for a great buffet with a wide variety.

Nice hotel however I could hear every time the people above me turned over or got out of bed.

Wonderful staff, quiet room, modern gym - perfect!

I rarely post reviews, but so many terrific things happened at this hotel that I have to comment. Everyone -- from the front desk to housekeeping -- was welcoming and helpful. On my first night, after I checked in late and exhausted, the security guard helped me with luggage while I looked for my car keys. Then the next day after I called to ask if the hot tub was open during winter, a staff member was sent immediately to turn it on and warm it up before I came down. And finally, after I checked out and was two hours away, I discovered that I'd left my driver's license and credit cards behind. (I was out of sorts on this trip. Smile.) I called the front desk, and the very kind staff member who answered looked for the items immediately, which he found in the parking lot. I spent more than 10 years on the road with work, and this has been one of the best hotel stays I've ever experienced, especially at this price.

Average stay in so-so property. Clearly older property that had been renovated and that was done pretty well. Good price (less than $100) and room was worth about that much.

Good Courtyard

Location: Duke University and Duke Hospital
I've had mixed experiences with Courtyards. This one is obviously new and in good shape. I didn't have a remote in the room but the staff quickly provided me with one.

Great location close to everything

Pros: cleaniness, atmosphere and great staff
Location: Movie theater, bowling, great resteraunts
theatre across the street, great food , target in walking distance and many other dinning establishments within minutes from this location. Front desk staff are awesome as well as the bar staff.
