Very nice hotel. Room was very clean quiet, and comfortable. The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent (dinner and breakfast). I enjoyed my stay.

Excellent location opposite the château, big bedroom, clean bathroom. Staff variable - excellent, helpful and super friendly lady at breakfast/ bar in the morning, but bar man the night before was drinking beer and didn’t seem as responsive to guests as I would like. Man at reception treated us like 2nd class guests… not sure if because we arrived by bike or booked by Expedia. Totally different to what we found in other hotels in the area on our cycle trip.

Somebody must have smoked in my bedroom and made 2 holes in the cotton curtain... However the 'gouvernante' came to spray some stuff to eradicate the smell but the curtain was not replaced during my stay.

We stayed just one night, visiting Rambouillet for an event which had its reception at the Mercure. The room was spacious and well-appointed. The more senior front-line staff were excellent. Some of the younger ones needed more training -- maybe just a matter of time. Good value. The "express" breakfast is much cheaper than the full version.

Unfortunately a wee bit disappointed in this hotel, we arrived after a long days driving, badly timed as we coincided with a large coach group arrival which really harassed the young man on reception, hopefully he's not always so rude. We didn't get the room that we had booked but after some negotiation with this receptionist he reluctantly sorted it out for us although the shower over the bath was too deep and slippy for my elderly mother to risk having a shower. Parking is in a public car park opposite the hotel, keep an eye on your hours, it's not always available. I had spent hours online trying to find a hotel with a restaurant that was open on a Sunday night and had booked weeks in advance, we were really looking forward to our evening meal however on querying the hours we were told it was booked out for the coach party, this was so disappointing and the receptionist was of no help unfortunately. I asked restaurant advice from the very friendly and helpful young lady in the bar and was informed they did bar food!, we had a meat and cheese platter which was excellent, however the bar closed at 9pm despite signs saying it was open till 11pm. This hotel was okay for our overnight stay but I don't think I'll be using it again.

Nice hotel in a nice town
Nice hotel, overlooking the chateau and market place. There is no parking attached to the hotel but most days you can park free overnight in the market place. The restaurant had a vegetarian option on the menu and we paid for breakfast which was varied and plentiful. The rooms were a decent size, and clean. Staff had varying standards of English but were all friendly and helpful.

I usually stay at the Mercure in Rambouillet which is not far away but it was fully booked that night. This hotel by comparison was very poor, the rooms reminded me of an Ibis and I booked a superior room. The staff were students I think and there was only one on duty eating his dinner. The restaurant and bar were shut.

We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and the great location. Lots of places to eat within a short walk and the beautiful château and park less than 50 meters away. Parking is available directly opposite the hotel and in the surrounding streets.

TIRED HOTEL
We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed our stay, but not this time. The general internal condition of the hotel is looking tired and requires re-decorating. The cleanliness of the hotel needs looking at, on our arrival, there was food spilt on the landing floor which was still there on our departure, with no attempt to clean it up. We ate in the restaurant on the evening of our stay and were very disappointed with the quality of the food. My main course was described as a quality steak, when it arrived it was a cold piece of tough meat laid on a bed of mashed potatoes with no accompaniments such as a few vegetables, sauce or even some salad (awful). My wife's Mackerel dish was equally poor, being grey, cold and "swimming" in a sea of water which was supposed to be ratatouille. Breakfast was equally as bad, with the milk for the coffee being off, the coffee cold and the scrambled eggs looking like they had been brought back from the previous day. We wont be staying again...........!

Always fabulous
I have stayed in this hotel several times now and will continue to do so. One of the best things about this hotel are the staff who are always friendly and efficient. I also love the hotel location and the outside café dining area, the town is great too and there is an enormous park opposite the hotel.

This is a great town and the hotel is situated adjacent to a splendid and vast park with a chateau in the grounds. The ideal spot to stop when driving down through France. The hotel has friendly staff and all amenities are as you would expect from Mercure. It is dog friendly and an ideal stop with the park across the road.

We were in Rambouillet for a sad event and were amazed when the manager and every desk staff person at the reception desk expressed sincere condolences over the course of our stay.
