Pros: Our dog liked the place!
Location: Location was good and nearby was an excellent dinner place.
We selected this hotel, because it was the only pet friendly available in Sheridan SD area. Unfortunately motel was a disappointment. Our room and the whole facility was dirty and badly maintained. Especially the reception and the breakfast area was unsanitary and ugly.

On the way to YellowstonePosted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: Comortable bed
Cons: WiFi not quite up to par yet.
Location: The cheeseburgers and red beer at the little bar on the west side of town were one of the best meals on our entire trip! Service was great!
We had a great stay in Ranchester after a hot day traveling and touring through Big Horn Battlefield. Western Motel offered a hot shower, cool room and a comfortable bed. WiFi only seemed to be available right out side the office door:) We also had a great supper at a little bar attached to the gas station on the west side of town. This stay also allowed us to get an early morning start on our drive to Yellowstone through the Big Horn Mountains. The sunrise and scenery around Ranchester are definitely worth the stay!

The Ranchester Motel was fine but very dated. The owners are very nice and are really trying to get the place up to snuff. It was convenient for us and it worked out fine.

Never stay there!Posted Sep 1, 2010
The bed was very old and uncomfortable. The room was very small with the bed occupying more than half. The owner seemed to be spying on our every move. There was a tv tray for a night table. The owner entered the room in the morning well before checkout time after I had gone for gasoline, but before my wife was awake. The walls were paper-thin. You could easily hear the next room's occupants. The advertised breakfast consisted of cereal, several day-old donuts, warm orange drink--not juice, and coffee that must have been made with about one-fifth the amount of grounds for any tasteful coffee, etc.!!!! If I had mortal enemies, I still would not recommend this motel to them!
