Was good. They were redoing the lobby so things were a little out of the way

AWFUL!!!

Pros: NOTHING
Cons: If your going to remodel the ENTIRE hotel then CLOSE until your done. Every reason I booked this hotel was NOT available. New manager needed as well
Location: This hotel has no perk for location. There are at least a dozen others immediately around it. No reason to put up with very poor customer service!
Booked with Expedia and when we arrived the ENTIRE hotel was under construction. Nothing stated on the site. Hotel smelled so bad even the hotel manager said it was unbearable. Plastic sheeting hanging from the ceiling. Rooms were not what we booked, no longer a pool or hot tub. No restaurant or bar (also under construction). Hot breakfast was also minimized down to coffee and donuts in the dirty smelly front lounge with construction crews moving through. Manager was very arrogant and stated there was little he WOULD do because it was on Expedia that they were under construction. When I pulled up the site on my phone to show him there was nothing said, he refused to look. Manger was VERY rude and finally offered to refund my rooms, however we had a total of 6 people coming for a 4 day event. All prepaid!! Finally offered to send only me to a neighboring property stating that my other friends could join us from their breakfast there. When I agreed and drove to the other property (which was VERY nice, clean and friendly people) I was informed that there was NO free breakfast there and I had been down graded from a king bed room to a reg 2 queen room. This was the worst experience I have ever had. I WILL NEVER stay at the Ramada Inn in Rapid City again. The Manager needs a refresher course in Customer Service!!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am very sorry for your experience and that we were not a right fit for your stay in Rapid City. I have reviewed the Expedia website, Mobile App, and mobile website versions with Expedia representatives. All 3 versions inform guests of our renovations and closures and have done so since last summer. I'm sorry that we could not come to a mutually agreeable solution during your stay.

Under construction.

Front desk help non existent. Went in, no one there. Did as sign directed and called the "house phone". It rang right in front of me but no one showed up. Waited about 15 minutes, finally just left. The construction workers tried to be helpful, but nothing they could do.

Even though it sounds like you didn't get to stay with us, we appreciate you letting us know about the wait at the front desk. When our front desk staff does step away occasionally for a restroom break, to help other guests, or to help other departments, we carry a phone with us. Apparently it was just out of range at the time. We sincerely apologize you didn't get to stay with us and hope we get a chance to serve you again in the future.

Nice hotel, cleaning staff needs cleaned up

There was dried blood on our sheets. The cops were there every night hauling people out. The staff was quick to change sheets and was very friendly but the whole experience was miserable. We did not feel safe at all.

remodeling, smoking disaster

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: all of it.
Location: can'y get bad hotel out of my mind to do anything.
About the worst place I ever stayed. remodeling. workmen sleeping next door smoked all night in non smoking rooms. no way to get to office other than outside about two blocks away in cold 40 mph winds. they didnt key my room right so with arms loaded the 2d night I had to fight my way to office. never cleaned room. need to know anything else?

No hot water for showers during my entire five day stay. Had to wait for half an hour to check out on the final morning due to no one being at the front desk. Only saving grace was the two young staff members at the counter were full of smiles and very gracious.

Good price for a nice room

Pros: Location, reputation, newly remodelled rooms...
Cons: It will be better when the lobby is finished and breakfast is available.
Location: The Ramada is right at one of the main exits off the interstate, and is close to a variety of restaurants as well as the main shopping mall.
My husband and I were looking for an inexpensive but nice room for a night while attending the Black Hills Stock Show. It would be hard to find a better deal than the $60 we spent to stay at the Ramada. Great location, newly remodelled, comfortable and pretty clean (just a few surfaces that had not been wiped down). Also, there were no unused outlets in room - strange! I had requested and reserved a room with one queen bed, and ended up settling for a room with 2 queens (less space to relax). The woman at the desk said they did not have any queen rooms available since those are all in the main building that was in the process of being remodelled and they were trying to keep guests away from the noise and mess. Fair enough. Overall, a comfortable room and a good stay for us.

It was a good, cheap, comfortable room. The hotel is undergoing a remodel, so the lobby area is a mess right now.
