Honeymoon at Belmond Carusi
We chose Belmond Caruso after a very long and detailed analysis of the hotels in the area. The other hotels we were comparing it with are Palazzo Avino, Monastero Santa Rosa and Villa Cimbrone.
Belmond was consistently rated above Monastero Santa Rosa and indeed we found has a much more practical location: It is in the middle of Ravello so you can literally step outside and be in shops or restaurants within minutes.
The second key factor is that this hotel has the most beautiful pool and pool view in the area. Palazzo Avino which is next door as a very poor pool situation in comparison.
The hotel offers a free shuttle to Amalfi which is very practical as Amalfi is the closest ferry station so is how one would go to Capri or Positano before or after this stay. Amalfi also has two michelin starred restaurants.
The hotel also offers a daily boat trip on the coast which lasts 2h: we enjoyed this and were able to go swimming. The captain showed us all the key highlights of the coast so this was a great tour.
The breakfast is served in the restaurants or room without additional charge which is not common. This is the best breakfast we have had in our lives, and you can order basically anything.
The restaurant of the hotel is a fine dining option for dinner, and definitely delicious.
The lunch option by the pool has organic healthy salads and incredible pizzas.
The Cocktail list is to die for.
But the big differentiator is the service which is absolutely incredible.
