Posted Feb 14, 2017
Pros: Roomy room..shampoo..fridge..microwave...table...tub...big bed...nice heater.....easy parking...
Cons: Fix the drippy tub..weatherstrip and paint and size front door better...go to computerized keys so safer...fix ice making machine......
Location: Close enough to my destination....one way streets..
The manager was not too friendly..no one stayed at the hotel but me I think..for 3 days...nice microwave..fridge...comfy chair...tub/shower..they provided soap and shampoo..nice..:)..ice machine seemed long broken..door not weather proofed and it stuck from rainy weather...I felt area was safe..easy parking...overall for the price...and things in the room.... I would stay again despite some issues...cheap...which I like...

Worst hotel ever

Posted Jan 24, 2017 on Hotels
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! I'm a frequent traveler and have to say this was one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. I arrived at the hotel after dark and thought it was odd that noticed our car was the only car in the parking lot. The room was freezing cold when we first walked in. It took almost an hour for the room to warm up. We had to stay under the blanket to stay warm. Soon I noticed that the sink didnt work. The dirty water just stayed in the sink. There was an old TV in the room but with no channels. We were tired after long hours of driving and decided to go to bed early. We got up in the morning and learned that's there was no hot water in the shower after I took off my clothes and waited by the tub for solid 5 minutes. I tried to phone the front desk and only realized the phone didn't work either. After all of this, I demanded full refund and the manager refused and he wasn't even apologetic.

I was a bit skeptical when we pulled into the parking lot but was surprised when I entered our room. The motel looks shabby on the outside but the rooms are spacious and very clean. We had options in this older neighborhood for food within walking distance. The area was quiet and clean.

The Shasta Lodge was an oasis in a sweltering and low-action and not so very welcoming city in California. I found it disappointing that they had evidently cemented in their swimming pool, as it gets very hot there in summertime. So, I did move after one night to a hotel with a working pool, but it was very dirty! Oh well, I suppose it was a trade off. However, I could have rated Shasta Lodge higher if there were a working swimming pool with poolside "equipment" (seating facilities).

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Cleanness, Customer Service
Location: It was good location
The hotel is old, the room was clean, but overall was old and a little smelly. It was not too comfortable.

Budget Layover

Posted Aug 1, 2016
Pros: The price was right for what you get
Cons: Add a hair dryer
Location: Close to I-5 , easy to get to and from freeway.
This hotel is what was expected out of a 2 star hotel. If fit out needs for a one night layover while driving to LA. we checked in at midnight and left at 8 am. The rooms were very dated but clean and comfortable. TV, Microwave , and shower worked as intended . No noise from other rooms or guests . We didn't book the hotel for the pool so we weren't disappointed to find that it was empty.

Convenient to I-5

Posted Jul 22, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Better towels and soap
Location: Don't know--just looking for a convenient location to sleep before traveling on.
Draperies didn't close completely. Beds were too soft for our comfort though someone else might think they were just right. The location was easy to find and we only spent 6 hours there so it was ok.

Fairly basic hotel. The curtain in our room would not close and the desk clerk shut it with clips. Although there is free Wi-Fi, the connection stalled every few minutes and at times would not connect at all.
