Traveling to the eclipse

We arrived in Redding to a sold out city. Glad we had reserved a room. The AC in the room saved us because it was 107 degrees! Wonderful check in staff. Good room.

Nice staff. Tv didn't work. Interior door used as exterior door and didn't feel secure. Comfortable bed and room temperature.

Pros: The wood floors
Cons: Everything. This place would be perfect for that show Hotel Impossible. The owners need a dose of reality about how a motel should operate.
Location: Gritty. A real low end liquor store a very short walk away.
There was no one there to check me in late afternoon. I didn't see the bell and had to wander the property to get help. The room was in badly in need of updating. The bed was not really comfortable (also could see a cigarette burn through the sheets) and the air conditioner struggled on one of the hottest days of the year. Cool but not cold enough. . For the most part the room was clean which is of course important. The area felt gritty. I got the sense that there may be long term rentals going on. I would not stay here again but if you just want a small, outdated, clean room I guess it passses for 1 night.

The worst I've been to

I never wrote any review before tho I've been to the cheaper hotels/motels. The room smells very strong with cigar smoke (and thats a non-smoking room, I dont have to give comments about the floor). The bathroom is "acceptable" regarding the water runs well even tho its quite old. Its scary because the bathroom window isn't locked and you can see theres a alley with trash/garbage. I have to say that scared me. The worst thing was check-in time was 4pm. It was there on the website (my bad) but they still wanted me to pay like $15 to check in early (I came at 1pm) even tho there were many vacancies. The people are ok, they are not professional, yet they are not rude or anything. They finally charged me $10. The office is the last thing I want to be stay in for more than 10 seconds. Its very dark, mostly close and filled with weird very unpleasant smell. i could rate a negative score for this one because of the condition.

Really surprise the descriptions of posting did not match expectation. Left a day early on a 3 day stay. Hot. Thin walls. Old cooler wall patched with cardboard. Old and shabby not has detected in posted picture. Only one channel on television. Poorly maintained bathroom.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: The beds need updating and more inside lighting.
Location: Location was ok. Close to the freeway. Within walking distance to restaurants and bars.
The room was very hot, the temperature outside was over 100 degrees. It took hours before the room cooled off. They could of turned the air conditioner on before arrival time. The room advertised said 2 queen beds, the beds were actually full size and not very comfortable. It was very dark inside the room, not enough lighting. Had to ask for extra toilet paper and towels. Cleaniest was ok but the floor was sticky. I was not very happy with the accommedations.

Pros: Staff was great
Cons: More attention to cleanliness
Very friendly and accommodating staff! Only issue were the wooden floors which should be mopped after every check out.
