At least get the name correct.
This property is now Quality Inn, no longer Asteria. The employees really need training, the breakfast was disappointing, the property needs a face lift. It was not awful, it was just kind of disappointing. I would grade it a C minus at best.

Non smoking room smelled like everyone had been smoking in it. Amount charged was not the amount quoted. Too tired to fight the battle. Would not stay there again!

It was a last minute decision to stay in the area. We had stayed here in the past. It is again under remodel construction, which didn't bother us too much, we wanted a bed for the night. Our reservation was for a king size bed, but they told us they didn't have any available, at which time we agreed to take a double/double if it were on the 1st floor. The staff was able to get us in on the first floor. This motel has never been a 5 star, but the staff come close

There is rarely anyone at the front desk, and you have to call them to get a hold of them. And when I tried to use the room telephone, it didn't even work. They alternate days on cleaning rooms, and although I requested some minor items to be cleaned in my room, it wasn't done.

I had a problem checking in. I made the reservation through Hotels.com and the front desk clerk told me the code provided for payment did not work. I used my credit card to charge the room, was double charged, and am having a hard time getting the overcharge refunded and resolving the matter. I contacted the hotel directly without resolution, and contacted it again through hotels.com and was told the manager was not available. I'm getting the run around, and this has completely overshadowed any positive experiences I had with the hotel.

No one was ever at the front desk - they were playing in the pool until all hours. They need to NOT advertise free breakfast - it was the worst excuse for a breakfast I have ever seen - and I travel A LOT!

Worse hotel we ever stayed at.No one at front desk to greet us and she was dressed very inappropriately.She also was absent when we checked out.We also he to pay up front which is unheard of but can see why as you wouldn't want to pay later. Breakfast was a laugh. Bags of bread and bags of bagels in which anyone with grubby hands could get in.Juice hade gnats in it.Hall carpets were filthy and stained with worn out areas. Handicapped bathroom was well equipped.

Basic needs were met at Asteria Inn & Suites
The room was clean and didn't smell. The continental breakfast was minimal but fine with me since my favorite cereal namely Cheerios was available. The hallway carpets were in need of cleaning. It appeared the hostess was also a cleaning person so there was no one at the front desk. It took three phone calls before she responded.

Check in was very efficient. Person at front desk was very pleasant. Room was very modest but then again I wasn't staying at a three to five star hotel. To greatly improve the bed they should start using a fitted sheet on the bottom I got into bed and the bottom sheet and mattress pad moved to top of bed.

Not what I expected.
Nice little town, but the hotel stay was not what I expected. Way over-priced thru Expedia. The room itself was okay, fairly clean but outdated. Slim breakfast. Outside was dirty, stains all over the concrete, and all over the indoor hallway carpet. Not welcoming at all. Cigarette butts laying around. Won't go there again when visiting sites nearby, Jeffers Petrocliffs and Laura Ingalls Museum.

I had low expectations due to other reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised to see they were wrong. The bathroom was clean and the rooms were cozy. Breakfast was minimal but free breakfast is free breakfast

The bedding was stained. The hot tub Was out of order. There was no air conditioning in the pool room. The juice machine did not work and there was hardly anything for breakfast!

Decent motel for the price
The only complaint I have is that the maid came in to clean our room at 9:30 am and woke us up. We didn't have the do not disturb sign on but were only staying one night so I was extremely surprised that they didn't wait until we had checked out. Was otherwise what you would expect. Everything was clean and they were doing exterior maintenance like repainting so it seemed well cared for.

The hotel is clean and perfectly adequate. The staff was friendly. The breakfast left much to be desired. Simple continental is fine, but merely the addition of peanut butter and jelly for the bagels would make a difference.

The issues we had were endless... arrived in our 1st room, people next door were arguing and we could hear every word... once in the bed there was a bed bug crawling on my daughters arm... hotel staff got us a new room right away but the room was dirty with ashes on the night stand... at least no bugs????? Hot night since the air conditioner did not work well. Next morning went down to the breakfast which was sadly lacking, not what I've had in the past with similarly priced hotels, bag of bagels in the fridge and some cereal, only strawberry flavoured oatmeal and that was it. Came back to the room that night and it hadn't been made up or cleaned. Towels were stained a multitude of colours so we weren't sure if they had been washed. Definitely will try to be more careful the next time. Could carry on but have to put clothes in the dryer now to make sure any bed bugs are dead, they say that heat kills them, I sure hope so.....

Convenient place to stay
Asteria is a hotel needing exterior upkeep. The interior, for the most part is still sound and clean. The spa was empty and the door to the pool area needed to be fixed. The room was spacious and clean. Everything worked as it should. Checking in was easy and the parking area is large and seems well-lit.

My stay at the Asteria Inn was very disappointing to say the least. The hotel location was acceptable, but that was probably the highlight. I had booked through Expedia which I probably wont do again, but I booked 2 weeks but I left after 1 week. The outside appearance of the building was kind of run down on front side and the backside was even worse. Is in need of serious painting and up-keep. The pool area is not very inviting. The hot tub did not work at all while I was there. I never saw a breakfast that was to be offered. I had to ask for coffee for my room every day. The blow dryer did not work. There was a stained towel in the room when I checked in and the one day they cleaned my room I was left a note saying here are 2 rags to use when cleaning the room WHAT?? They are to clean the room. Very rarely could I find any employee at front desk. I would never stay here again.

Outside is shabby. Lobby is very plain dark and uninviting, not very clean. Front desk clerk was unkempt (messy hair and clothes, not professional at all) and appeared to be "high". Room was OK. Breakfast selection was bare bones. Juice had run out, even though it was early in the morning. OK place for the price, but better to try somewhere else.

When we saw the condition of the place, we would not have stayed if we hadn't pre-paid. The web-site is very misleading. The sauna was broken, as was the juice machine, the pop machine, the room lamp, the room coffee-maker. I questioned if the sheets had been changed when I opened it, and everything was rumbled. The back door that can be opened with a room key, couldn't even be closed much less locked. The staff was young but very nice and tried to be helpful in a situation that seemed out of their hands.

Very Disappointing
The staff was very pleasant, but not dressed professionally. The person at the front desk was dressed in old jeans and a tee shirt. The room was clean, with the exception of the bathtub. Bleach would have gone a long way! The tub stopper looked like it had a century of hard water built up on it; I hope that is all it was! The bottom bed sheet was a flat sheet and did not stay in place. There wasn't a coffee maker or hair dryer in the room. The continental breakfast was more than lacking. You had a choice of cereal, bagel, an apple and three choices of juice. Two of the juices were out, no cream cheese for the bagels, and I looked in all the drawers and cabinets and found no napkins. Therefore, I went to the rest room and used paper hand towels. That restroom was discussing! I would not recommend staying here.

staff very un- professional. When we checked in the desk clerk did not even bother to greet us didn't even get up out of his chair I had to tell him I was here and I have a reservation he took my credit card told me to sign and that was it. Carpet and walls filthy! Every other hotel was full and we needed a room. Only stayed one night. That was enough.

Excellent service
This is an older hotel across the road from the speedway, so I was a little worried about noise, especially with a 10-year-old to get to sleep. The races actually ended early enough that they didn't bug us, so that was nice. The hotel manager, Anthony I think, was absolutely amazing - very fast to fix any issues, even with being completely booked up. All in all, a great stay.
