Tired, hungry and needing to relax.

Posted Aug 27, 2015
Traveling all day and was ready to eat, shower and relax. Found the best deal on Expedia and went with it. Clean, comfortable and staff was great. Had a great meal, hot shower and climbed into a comfortable bed to relax. Woke up 7 hrs later feeling great! Everything I wanted and at the best price.

Great shows/Nice Casino, but ignorant staff

Posted Aug 26, 2015
I've always liked the Grand Sierra Casino. There is a lot to do there with a movie theater that has couches, a bowling alley, a huge arcade, a driving range, great toy store, neat other stores, STARBUCKS! And a great casino with one of the best poker rooms. Their rooms are ok. Nothing spectacular. The $20 "resort" fee is a rip off . I'm not happy with their staff at check in. They acted like we were "bothering" bothering; then and they don't know the laws in regards to ADA and service dogs, they are ignorant. I booked a king room. We got there and they stated that the king room was not a guarantee, the only ones were available were two queens. I asked about an upgrade and she said a $40 extra charge. Then she said, if you have a service dog, we could have 2 king beds and a $100 deposit for the dog to get a "red" leash. I told her that she can't do that for a service animal. She acted like we peed in her frosted flakes. Terrible customer service. And then room service gave us crap for ordering dessert later in the night. I was floored. This is why I visit the Grand but stay at the Peppermill.

The staff were all friendly and helpful!

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: The staff were really pleasant and helpful!
Cons: I cannot think of anything?
Location: Not applicable.... Had a Reno friend take me places.
I enjoyed my stay! The hotel had a 24-hour snack bar which had my favorite food...popcorn! The bar in the pool was a pleasant place to sit and be outside, and yet be under shade! It was easy to find everything in the hotel! I ate at the Italian and the Asian restaurant and enjoyed them both.

Nice but......

It's a casino so smoke permeates into everything. It is subtle but certainly there. My eyes were bloodshot after spending the night.

Checking was painful...they tried to tell me that the type of room that I booked (Summit) was all taken, even though I had already paid for it in full. They tried to talk me into taking one of the cheaper rooms for one night and then move me back to the summit room on the next day. After going back and forth for about 20 mins, they finally "found" a room for me that I had already booked and paid for in full. It was not a pleasant experience because it was already very late and I was traveling with two young children.

A nice hotel in the heart of Reno

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The cleanliness and spaciousness of the room.
Cons: Nothing
Location: It's easy to reach from the freeway. Downtown Reno is not far either.
A nice hotel in the heart of Reno. There is something for everyone in the Grand Sierra. Of course there is gambling but there's also laser tag, movie theater, swimming pool, restaurants, and an arcade for the kids.

Great Stay

Modern room, modern hotel. Good WiFi... this hotel even has a movie theater & bowling alley. The real Billy Idol was performing there when we stayed. Great place.
