Stayed 2 nights for Hot August Nights 2015

Posted Aug 12, 2015
Pros: The staff was the best part, followed by the cleanliness.
Cons: Parking, and possibly a bigger pool.
Location: Hot August Nights was our plan and that was all we did. It's 15 minutes from Downtown Reno, and probably about the same to Sparks.
(Sorry if I do not remember anyone's names - but the review should make up for it). Staff: Arrived at around 2:00 AM the first night. The lady at the front desk was courteous and checked us in fast, and even provided some extra blankets upon request - even at the early hour. The server/host at the breakfast bar was very helpful and went beyond the hospitality of your average host. Apparently, the others in my group thought the same as I. 5 stars, hands down. I don't expect a lot, but the staff deserves kudos for their efforts. Facilities, condition: I used the gym which, while small, was adequate for a morning exercise. The pool is pretty small - don't expect much swimming. The room was a decent size, everything worked and was clean and thankfully, it didn't smell like an ashtray (in fact, it was very quiet). The beds are "sleep number" firmness-adjusting beds and worked out OK. Didn't have a bad night's rest. The only complaint I had was that the ring around the showerhead broke off when I tried to change the pattern. I screwed it back on - wasn't a big deal. Not a lot of parking, but we found a spot every night (I expected that anyway since we were in town for an event). Cleanliness: See above. Everything was clean and organized. No issues at all. Comfort: Beds were nice and comfortable (didn't have any problems for anyone in our group), they provided extra blankets and it smelled clean and there was little noise. No complaints here.

Very close to Pegs and Squeeze In for breakfast. Gas station right out front and nearby the full auto range!

Nice location

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: Nothing in particular.
Cons: Food
Location: Not within walking distance of much of anything, but convenient to our route when leaving (south to Bishop). .
Hotel was acceptable, food was awful. I can't think of anything much to add -- motels in Reno are marginal, at best, and we don't like staying at casino-hotels. I'm sure you could do better than the Hilton but it was located well for us and the situation was acceptable, if not above average. Except for the food. Next time, I'd skip it and go to MacDonalds.

Worst night ever

Beds were supposed to adjust - did not and were like sleeping on the hard floor. Air did not work correctly. Overall the most miserable night ever.

One night stay. Usually stay at Hilton Garden Inn wherever we go. Room was clean. No warm cookies in lobby like most other HGI. Away from downtown quite always, but that's what we were looking for with two kids. Overall, experience as expected.

Pros: Great staff, cleanliness, comfort, quiet and convenient location
When I'm in Reno, I always stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. It consistently provides everything I expect in a great hotel.

This hotel was nothing special. It cost more than staying at one of the big resorts in town and is pretty far south of all the casinos.
