The hotel grounds and greenery were extremely well kept up. The buffet breakfast and dinner exceeded our expectations. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room was basic but internet was reliable. Television was mainly German with some Greek channels which makes sense as the majority of the guests were older Germans. The pretty beach was very accessible and swimmable,got lounger with no problems each day. Negatives- horrible smelling cleaning products used especially the lobby (overpowering) and the area around hotel is not very walkable.

In the advertising the beach was not described properly. It was very small ( maybe 10m)and not clean. Also if you’re looking for all inclusive it will be place for you. We wouldn’t have booked. No other negatives. The hotel is in great location.

A bit outdated, but overall a great property. We stayed for 3 nights. Had a bit of an issue with the bathroom flooding when we showered, not quite sure what caused it...I was also quite surprised that you can't get an iron if you need one. You can only use the hotel laundry services which of course will cost you. Excellent, quick and attentive service at the restaurant, the food was amazing both at breakfast and dinner! I quite enjoyed the stretching and aqua dance classes offered by the animation team from Forever Fun, but definitely recommend they use microphones when conducting them!

A nice hotel, very quiet with good pools and great food. Easy access to beach with wonderful opportunity to witness baby turtles leaving their nests. Staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Downside very strong wind for most of week which meant red flag was flown as sea and under tow bar area too dangerous to swim in. A holiday maker drowned ! Although their are warnings on beach and life guard became more proactive after incident all guests should be made aware of the real danger upon arrival. Life guards only on beach from 10 - 5.30 p.m .

We take great pride in offering memorable experiences complete with top notch service from our colleagues and it is a pleasure to know that we achieve our goal. Concerning the life guard, we inform you that all necessary precautions are taken daily. Very often we are controlled by the Hellenic Coast Guard and we keep all necessary measures and equipment. At the front desk is also located the weather forecast included and the speed wind. In addition, there is a lifeguard who is hired by the Municipality. There was a red flag, so every guest is responsible for the access to the sea. There are also notices indicating to the guests that they should first advise the flag and then entering the sea. It is the responsibility of each guest the entrance into the sea. Our beach is a paradise for sea turtles Karetta Karetta, has a length of 400m and each year is awarded the blue flag, a factor which indicates that the natural beach meets all the standards. In the sea there are parts with rocks, but also sandy parts. There is good access to the sandy beach and the sea. We will pass your nice comments to our staff. We hope to see you again soon. High quality stay; reasonably priced
They offer various plans of food service for the buffet style offerings. The food preparation, freshness and quality and the service are really excellent for these reasonably priced offerings. The hotel is welcoming, the staff is well trained and sincere in the services offered. Lots of attention to the details. One caveat: Make sure you have clear directions if you are driving to the hotel. No signs from the hwy and there are different hotels within the complex.

Staff, food, pools and room was great! It is very quiet and relaxing. Bed was a little hard and WIFI was very poor.

Overall a 4 out of 5
The grounds and the beach are beautiful, as other reviews state. However, the rooms and bathrooms could use quite a bit of upgrading. Reception staff was nice, but dining staff could have been nicer. The food was ok. It was acceptable, but not particularly special. I would recommend in the end due to the beach mostly, but would encourage lower expectations than the ones I had.

One day and night at the Creta Royal
Despite the hotel being 'adults only' the staff were extremely welcoming to us bringing our baby daughter. The other guests didn't seem quite as welcoming as they were expecting a child free break! Hotel is very clean and the food selection in the buffet is excellent. The waiters and waitresses were very kind and accommodating and treated my daughter like a little celebrity... We only stayed for one night before setting off on the next part of our trip on the island, but I would have been happy to stay longer. Well done Creta Royal!!

The Royla Creta was fantastic! We opted for the breakfast/dinner provided "half board" option and could not have been more delighted. Our server Irianna was very attentive. The food was prepared with fresh ingedients, plenty of options and delicious. The staff was attentive and provided everything we had asked for. The beach location as well as two pool options proivded something for each guest. We would recommend this hotel 200% percent!

Pretty nice hotel
I were there with my wife. Hotel makes good impression, good service and rooms are in good conditions, beach is clean and near. But there is absolutely nothing to do in hotel. So you'd better rent a car and drive around to see plenty of ancient places and taste real national food and wine. You won't regret.

Never again!
This sad hotel is supposed to be the "fancy" sister of it's neighbor run by the same company. The place has not been upgraded in years. For a beach resort in mid May, one might expect air conditioning but I was told that it is only on during "high season". The room was dingy. The bed was uncomfortable, the food (breakfast and dinner included in "half board") was low-end buffet style ... and they expected one to "dress up" for dinner. All in all an unpleasant stay ... I'm just glad it was only for one night.

Friendly staff, very very quiet, nice pool-area, nice hotel, ok food. This is an adults only hotel, so very strange that the pool bar closes at 17.30 when that is the nicest time to relax by the pool and have a drink. No lounge music, very poor cocktails, not what I had expected from a “5” star adults only hotel. The “gym” was not for free, a small room with 3 machines - once again not what we had expected.

Super lækker buffet.
Dejligt sted, hvor vi har været før (nabo hotellet). Vi havde booket på nabo hotellet, men pga. Covid 19 var det lukket. Vi blev opgraderet til bedre værelse, husker nabo hotellet værende bedre. Meget fin buffet, fin og trygt betjening. Nødvendigt at have en bil da det er langt fra "Alfavej".

super mit kleinen Mankos
Insgesamt hat es uns sehr gut gefallen. Besonders die große Wiese mit den Liegen direkt über dem Strand war wirklich toll. Das Essen war tip top und alles war sauber und sehr schön hergerichtet. 1x/Woche wird das Abendessen draußen rund ums Pool serviert, was auch echt was hermacht. Mankos gab es, aber die Beschwerden sind hier eher auf hohem Niveau: Zimmer sind altmodisch eingerichtet, der Lifeguard hält es am Strand zu restriktiv (es sollte klar kommuniziert werden, dass man bei Wellengang maximal 5m rein darf oder so, nicht alle 15min alle rauspfeifen weil einer weiter rein geht) Was wirklich negativ war: man bekommt bei Ankunft jeweils einen 15min-Massagegutschein - sehr nett, denkt man sich. Was man beachten muss ist dass der nur an den ersten 2 Tagen eingelöst werden kann! Danach wird einem erzählt "na wenn sie ihn nicht verlieren wollen, buchen Sie doch Massagepackage xyz für 150€". Ich war dann doch sehr wütend. Ein Gutschein ist ein Gutschein und ich wäre nicht einmal abgeneigt was zu buchen. Nach der Aktion war das Interesse an jeder Massage jedenfalls weg. Die Massage-Damen gehen auch ständig am Strand herum und wollen ihre Sachen verkaufen und reden viel zu laut - nervig! Aber wie gesagt, insgesamt hats gut gepasst und die Mankos waren eher klein - wir haben unsere 10 Tage dann doch sehr genossen.

Il y a un gardien de la vie quotidiennement; nous vous informons que toutes les précautions nécessaires sont prises quotidiennement. Très souvent, nous sommes contrôlés par les garde-côtes helléniques et nous conservons toutes les mesures et équipements nécessaires. Notre plage est un paradis pour les tortues marines. Karetta Karetta a une longueur de 400 m et reçoit chaque année le drapeau bleu, un facteur qui indique que la plage naturelle répond à toutes les normes. Dans la mer, il y a des parties de roches, mais aussi des parties sableuses. Il y a un bon accès à la plage de sable et à la mer. De plus, nous aimerions mentionner que notre hôtel est multinational. Chaque semaine, les pourcentages de toutes les nationalités sont différents, mais viennent d'abord les invités d'Europe. Nous ne faisons pas de discrimination parmi nos clients, un facteur qui est prouvé par le pourcentage extrêmement élevé d’invités répétés de différents pays, un facteur qui prouve l’excellente qualité du service de notre personnel. Отель 5 звезд, но готовьтесь к тому, что это максимум четверка в Европе. Из плюсов: - Отличная территория отеля. - Неплохая кухня. Особенно удачно получаются десерты. - Персонал очень приятный и готовый помочь. - Приятная встреча гостей. Презентация по приезду и отъезду. Из минусов: - старый номерной фонд. В общем, если у вас устройств больше чем два, вы их одновременно не сможете зарядить. В каждом номере всего две розетки. И они работают только когда древний магнитный ключ подсоединён, значит только во время пребывания в номере. Отель наверняка был классным в 80-е, но сейчас 21 век. - плохая уборка номера. Воду не приносят, убирают плохо. Оставили на чай. Ничего не изменилось. - Отель находится в удалении от инфраструктуры. Для кого-то это минус, для меня плюс. - Контингент- бабушки и дедушки приемущественно из Германии. Хотя это удивляет- adults only 18+, совсем не одно и тоже что 60+.

Настоящий отдых "по-взрослому".
Небольшие уютные номера, доброжелательный персонал, шикарный ресторан с великолепной кухней, красивый ухоженный сад - всё располагает к комфортному, неторопливому отдыху. Для любителей подвигаться все развлечения расположены на территории соседнего отеля. Одного теннисного стола явно мало. Очень дорогие и неудобные лежаки на пляже! Сам пляж не представляет из себя ничего особенного. Расположение отеля удобное, недалеко от районного центра Ретимно. В самой деревушке делать нечего. Все недостатки отеля компенсирует очень отзывчивый персонал. Общее впечатление об отдыхе хорошее.

Non è un 5 stelle
camera prenotata con vista mare con mare visibile molto in lontananza, non era sul mare e in prossimità. Camera richiesta spaziosa era piccola, con un letto di una piazza e mezzo anzichè matrimoniale. Per un hotel di 5 stelle queste furbizie non sono gradite, dormire in un letto stretto per 2 persone per 9 gg. non è comodo. La biancheria che veniva adoperata, lenzuola ed asciugamani, non erano sempre linde.

Vi havde en næsten fantastisk ferie på Creta Royal. Det positive først. Maden var fantastisk, stemningen var fantastisk, personalet var altid hjælpsomme, fællesarealer er super med gode pools, flot have, dejlig lille strand, dejlig frokostrestaurant i vandkanten, gode parkeringsforhold med vagt mm. Området er ok, hvis man har en bil. Det negative. Værelserne var meget mørke og med en skarp lugt, men værst var madrasserne elendige - hårde og godt brugte. Utroligt at et så flot og dejligt hotel har så elendige madrasser - man tilbringer trods alt næste 30 % af tiden i sengen.

Hotel traditionnel, personnel sympathique,
Merveilleux jardins, piscines pratiques, personnel disponible. Arrivés vers minuit, un repas froid, des fruits et du vin rouge nous attendait dans la chambre. La personne présente nous a aidé à monter les valises dans la chambre et nous a donné les informations nécessaires. Une bouilloire dans la chambre manque pour un hôtel de cette catégorie. Difficulté pour le taxi de trouver la réception la nuit car il n'y avait aucun panneau visible. Le seul existant, trouvé le lendemain matin était caché par le feuillage d'un arbre qu'on avait oublié de tailler. Attention : Compte tenu du nombre des d'escaliers déplacements difficiles avec cannes béquilles etc

Ottimo hotel in riva al mare con una buona posizio
Bellissimo hotel, ottimo il buffet della cena, la pulizia delle camere e tutti i servizi dell'hotel, unici nei, la colazione all'italiana un po' poco varia, spiaggia nn è il massimo ed è a pagamento, in camera è presente 1 sola presa della corrente... Comunque a parte queste minime cose il soggiorno è stato ottimo

Séjour idyllique
Nous venons de passer une dizaine de jours en famille au Creta Royal Hôtel et nous garderons un formidable souvenir de notre séjour. Je n'ai que des points positifs à relater. Tout est parfait, à commencer par le personnel, le gros point fort de cet hôtel : professionnel, efficace, très gentil, que ce soit au restaurant, les femmes de chambre, les réceptionnistes (qui parlent parfaitement français). Le cadre de l'hôtel est enchanteur, des jardins très bien entretenus, coin piscine agréable. Et la nourriture est excellente, produits très frais.Réservez au Creta Royal sans hésiter ! (évitez en revanche son voisin, le Creta Star, sauf si vous aimez l'ambiance hôtel club pour Russes !)

Le CRETA ROYAL n'est pas un 5 étoiles !
Deux semaines en Juin au CRETA ROYAL (5*), en demi-pension. L'hôtel est à taille humaine (120 chambres), donc tranquillité assurée. Les chambres avec vue sur mer (une vingtaine), sont à l'étage. La plage n'est pas large ni privée, et les transats y sont payants ! Deux piscines d'eau de mer avec de nombreux transats autour (gratuits), mais il faut se lever tôt (6h30) pour réserver son transat favori ! Le restaurant principal (petit déjeuner et diner) propose de bons produits, avec une grande diversité. Pour autant, les 5 étoiles ne sont pas justifiées, à cause de détails plus ou moins importants comme la literie, la salle de bain, les équipements télé et WIFI, le manque de cafetière dans la chambre, le pèse valise payant (1 €).

Prestations Lamentables et indignes d'un 5*
En arrivant, la réceptionniste nous a dit qu’elle n’avait pas de chambre pour nous et que nous devions être logés dans l’hôtel voisin (Creta Star, 4 étoiles, noté 3.3/5 sur hotels.com). Nous avons bien évidemment refusé et après de longues négociations, nous avons fini par avoir une chambre de mauvaise qualité avec vue sur la route principale de Crète (E75), simple vitrage, saletés… Nous avons finalement été relogé le lendemain dans une autre chambre (pas terrible non plus). Voici quelques exemples qui ne sont pas dignes d'un 5 étoiles et qui ne sont pas mentionnées dans la description de l'hotel: · Le centre de fitness, le sauna et même les transats de la plage sont payants · Les serviettes de plage sont sales et prêtées contre 20€ de caution par serviette · La piscine couverte ne se trouve pas pas au creta Royal mais au creta Star · Les piscines extérieures sont sales et pas nettoyées tous les jours Concernant la chambre en elle-même, pour un prétendu 5 étoiles, sachez que : · Le bruit est omniprésent (aucune isolation) : on entend tous les voisins, le ménage commence à 7h30, les camions livrent l’hôtel à toute heure… · La literie est de mauvaise qualité (on sent les ressorts du matelas) · La baignoire se bouche, la climatisation ne fonctionne pas, le sèche-cheveux agonise… · Nous devions avoir une vue montagne, nous avons finalement eu une vue sur la nationale.
