Close to Keflavik Airport

Posted Jan 29, 2016
Pros: Great location and excellent service.
Cons: Bath towels were a bit hard and small.
Location: We use the Kaffi Duus restaurant close by.
We stayed here overnight as we had an early morning flight home. Hotel was very comfortable and clean. We had to leave at 5.30 am to catch our flight home. An early help yourself breakfast was provided which was good. They also provided a car to take us to the airport. There was no extra charge for this wonderful service.

Nice cosy hotel

Posted Jan 20, 2016
A very nice cosy restaurant close to the airport. After flying all day, it was so nice to be in the hotel fifteen minutes after we collected our bags, ready to pour a drink and relax, getting ready for three full days in Iceland. The next morning, a five minute drive back to the airport to catch the bus to downtown. Hotel is very warm and inviting..and quiet. A two minute walk to a very nice restaurant. Highly recommend...especially at the start or end of your Icelandic holiday.

Excellent b&b stay!

Posted Dec 30, 2015
This hotel is very much like a b&b. Absolutely wonderful stay. Fresh waffles in the morning, coffees and teas available 24hrs. Very clean, new and comfortable. They even drive us to the airport the next day free of charge. The only downside would be the rooms are not as soundproof as some other places so we could hear another rooms TV. But really everyone staying was so quiet. It wasn't really a problem. Would stay here again for sure.

Location: Rather than taking a bus or a cab, rent a car. It was a really good idea, recommended to us by the hotel staff.
The staff was great. Picked us up at the airport at midnight and drove us back to the airport the next day. Both times, were within 10 minutes of our request. They arranged a rental car for us. 30 minutes after I asked, the guy brought the car to the hotel for me to fill out the paperwork and when I was done I just left the keys with the hotel. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was great. The only negative was when we arrived, I had no way to contact the hotel to let them know I'd arrived. I had to buy a SIM card at the airport for about $27 so that I could call them. Aside from that, it was perfect for us and I would definitely stay there again.

Hotel berg.... Great stay if you want quiet

Posted Nov 18, 2015
Me and my boyfriend got back last night from the lovely hotel berg, was a beautiful hotel, most of the staff were friendly (only 1 let them down and he wasn't not friendly just not helpful). The beds were very comfortable, so comfortable I didn't want to get up! Room was clean and had a maid come on 2/3 days we stayed which I didn't expect. Bathroom was clean with hot water and a power shower! Waffles for breakfast was a treat! Plus fresh fruit, fresh bread loafs and a lot more made it worth it and helped us save money as it is very expensive in Iceland. I would recommend hotel berg to stay for couples looking for a quiet weekend away. If your looking for something a bit livelier then I would recommend staying in Reykjavik as it cost us 16000 isk (roughly £75) each way. Thank you hotel berg for a lovely stay!

Beautiful Hotel by the Water

Posted Nov 15, 2015
Pros: Location, view, clean, comfortable, updated.
Cons: Upon check-in, would have been helpful if staff gave more information about the surrounding area.
Location: Reykjavik Excursions will arrange pick up and drop off at Hotel Berg for their tours, even though this is not indicated on their website.
This hotel attracted me as it indicated it was by the water and that the hotel would pick me up and drop me off at the airport. Upon arriving at the airport, I called the hotel and within 15 minutes, had been picked up from the airport, taken to the hotel, and checked into my room. The room was clean and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had a small refrigerator. The view from the hotel was spectacular. It overlooked a small harbour. There was a hiking trail that led up the cliffs in front of the hotel. Breakfast included cereals, breads, meats, cheese, and a small selection of fruit. There was also a waffle maker. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate were available in the lounge 24 hours a day. It was about a 5 to 10 minute walk into town where there were some stores, restaurants, and a couple of grocery stores. The hotel stored my luggage for me on my check out day and then drove me to the airport.

Surprise result!

Posted Nov 11, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff. We were able leave bags with reception before check-in and after check-out.
Cons: Flagged an issue with the shower drain for our room but were assured it will be addressed.
Location: Kaffi Duus and Rain for food in Keflavik were nice. Lots of walking opportunities. Duus Hus and Viking World worth a visit
Original booking for Reykjavik went slightly awry and we opted to spend two nights in Keflavik first at Hotel Berg. Airport pickup and drop off are available if requested in advance. Family run type affair so no hotel chain feel to it. Plentiful breakfast in the morning - recommend Kaffi Duus just over the other side of the harbour for other meals - great selection of beers there as well. Coffee and tea facilities in the kitchen area for all residents - some may prefer a kettle in their rooms for first thing in the morning. Very friendly staff and would happily stay there again.

Iceland short break

Posted Nov 6, 2015 on Hotels
this was a very pleasant well run small hotel located close to the airport with facilities for those leaving on early morning flights, ie, breakfast from 4 am if required. the rooms were small but quite luxurious with all the necessary requirements, beautiful beds, safe coffee facilities and nice bathroom. breakfast was excellent. would also highly recommend this hotel for a longer stay
