Comfortable and clean with very helpful staff

Posted Feb 16, 2017
Pros: Location, breakfast includes, and great team of staff
Cons: Deco is too dark, feeling sad and dated
Location: Converient and safe to walk to many main attractions, and it is far away from the crowded tourist noisy area.
We spent 5 nights in Hotel Holt, from the minute we check-in till the time we check-out, we only have positive experience to say about this place.Every single staff we deal with are pleasant and helpful. Highly recormmend to anyone want to go.

Charming, small European boutique hotel!

Posted Feb 3, 2017
Wonderful, large art collection. Location!! Location! Both close to everything and very quiet. The staff was amazing! Very helpful with anything and everything. Helped in planning our day trips and arranging transportation. Made calls to help with some questions we had and straightened them out. So helpful. Many thanks! We enjoyed the European breakfast which was included each morning. We looked forward to it. The only change for our next visit is we would get a Jr Suite. We would like a little more space then the standard room. The whole feel of Historic Reykjavik is exactly what we expected from Iceland. New Reykjavik is becoming VERY modernized. We had the best time. Winter in Iceland is magical! Thank you all so much for our fond memories!!

Dear Elli, Thank you very much for your lovely comments! I am extremely happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and found the staff to be helpful - of course I totally agree with you, they are amazing :-) I will make sure that they know how happy you were with their assistance throughout your stay. Since you mention the art collection, which is something we are also very proud of... did you know it is the largest collection of art by Icelandic artists in the country? We are always ready to show our guests around and tell them a little bit about the works and artists. Next time you visit us, make sure to get a tour of the hotel! We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Warm regards from Reykjavík, Alda Marín

I booked a suite with view. However, my room has no view. Room was okay but the wifi inside room was not working correctly, I was connected from time to time. There was some work on the third floor while my room on the forth floor, it was a little noisy.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. You are right, we are finishing renovations on a few rooms on the third floor and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you for pointing out the problem with the WiFi, that has been taken care of - however it would have been good to know about the problem sooner, as that is something we could have fixed right away. Despite the cons you mention above I do hope that you found some of the aspects of the hotel to your liking and will consider staying with us again. Thank you again for your review, we really appreciate it! We hope to welcome you back to Hotel Holt in the future. Warm regards, Alda Marín

A central location set away from the busy shops

Posted Jan 2, 2017
A warm hotel, which is important if you travel to Reykjavik in the winter, which offers a reasonable breakfast complete with friendly staff. The restaurant prices are a bit ... pricey, but this isn't unusual for the city. Plenty of lounging space on the ground floor and on a cold winters afternoon/night (they are one in the same in winter!) the hotel often have hot chocolate or coffee on offer for guests returning from the outdoors. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and enjoyed the not to long walk to the city center. If being in the center of the shops is a must for you, don't stay here. If you want a short distance between you and the hubbub of the action this is the place for you.

old fashioned, comfy and convenient

Posted Dec 14, 2016
Pros: Clean, comfortable, well equipped.
Cons: When they say single, room they really mean it! Not much room and small single bed.
Location: Everything in Reyjavik is nearby.
Not the most modern hotel, but clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped. 5 minutes walk from the main streets, easy to get around without a car. Staff were mostly helpful and friendly. Bar is great and food in Gallery restaurant lovely.
