Nice hotel outside of the city

Posted Mar 16, 2017
The Hotel is fifteen minutes brisk walk from the city centre. The hotel is modern with lovely rooms and on the North side stunning views of the bay. All the amenities are good with TV imported from Ireland and all the UK channels. Rooms are serviced daily but only have a cursory wipe over and fresh towels. The staff do not engage with you but process you through as part of the tourist money machine that Iceland is. For the money charged for these rooms and the outside city location the quality of service needs to improve. The have Bistro which produces good food a premium prices but don't expect a warm welcome if you come in late of your flight or tour as they shut everything down at 2100 hours. The staff directed is to some fast food outlets, not ideal. For the money charged they should be providing a 24/7 service that you will get in all other countries.

Good Value

Receeption staff, friendly and extremely helpful with information ( there was exceptionally poor weather during our stay) Was a 15/20 minute walk into the town. Car park held about 12 cars. My bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was adequate and if any items ran out they were quickly replenished. Overall very good accommodation for the price.

Excellent stay in Reykjavik

Posted Feb 23, 2017
Very comfortable hotel with a good range of restaurants nearby. Rooms are spacious and clean. The staff were very helpful and competent, always trying to resolve issues quickly. They also help arrange sightseeing tours so it is worthwhile to seek their advice when you are unsure. Don't miss the breakfast as it is always fresh and come with an excellent selection!

Would recommend!!

2 criticisms I would make, first; very small beds and duvets. The second; Northern Lights booked through the hotel, this was cancelled and reception staff (female, can't remember her name) was rude. However, the guy who refunded us (Night shift) was very polite and helpful. P.S. we see the lights just walking around the city.

Posted Feb 4, 2017
Pros: hotel is ok if you do not have to great of an expectation
Cons: see above
Location: looking was good 15 min walk to the city and cathedral
hotel was ok staff very good just doesn't smile very often and it looks like the hotel is still under renovation as the TV's in the room on the ground floor are not working if you ask the Front Desk you get told that their waiting for the Technician The Towels in the bathroom are not very good some of them had a hole in it . No real amenities except shower gel and body lotion small Coffee station no mini Bar Room overall was very nice and big but at the same time it was bare no bathrobe or slippers. Bistro was okk but not an real exciting menu Breakfast is ok good variety but same thing all is self service you hardly see the service staff and the smile is missing would recommend the hotel when improvement are done

Weekend break with the girls

Posted Feb 1, 2017
Pros: Comfortable quiet rooms
Cons: Furniture a little dated and worn
Location: Within pleasant walking distance from the sea and city centre
Lovely time had by all. Comfortable hotel a little way out of centre but within pleasant walking distance. Staff friendly although did not volunteer information about tea and coffee until asked. Excellent and varied choice at breakfast. Tidy clean rooms although a little tired in places - towels changed daily. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Ok hotel

It is a good hotel, a nice location out of town but still a nice walking distance. The staff are for the most quite helpful, other than they messed up our pick up time for leaving to the airport. The rooms are very average, a "superior" room is a room with two twin beds. Don't be fooled by the hotel spa - it requires a day pass which isn't included in the hotel price. We had our rooms cleaned whilst we were there however their "cleaning" consisted of tidying the rooms and making the beds - they didn't even change our towels. For the most part the staff are friendly and helpful, but if your trip is anything like ours - you'll only be in the room to sleep, the excursions will mean you're hardly in the hotel.

Great base for exploring reykjavik.

Some of the rooms seemed a little dated though bathrooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was excellent. It's a 20 minute walk into the centre of town though this really wasn't a problem for us as it's a direct route and during the day you can take the next road down and walk along the sea wall.

Friendly hotel

Posted Jan 4, 2017
Pros: Staff friendliness and atmosphere.
Cons: Location.
Staff were really helpful with inquiries, particularly for finding tours, directions and chasing up late tour buses. Breakfast was a buffet with a variety of options. Good quality. Room towels were not changed every day, nor was the floor cleaned which was quite evident when its snowing and you walk in everyday with salt and dirt. But other than that was clean in all common areas. 40 minute walk into city center was not ideal. A few places to eat and shops in the area.

Pros: Good sized rooms
Location: About 30 minutes walk to the centre of Reykjavik so wouldn't suit anyone with poor mobility
