Cosy, warm friendly hotelPosted Nov 21, 2015
Enjoyable 2nd visit to Iceland. Hospitality at hotel was very good, made to feel welcome on arrival. Breakfast very good especially the waffles, and the room was warm and cosy. Would definetly recommend if wanting to be away from the main tourist area of the city. Would definetly visit again

Lovely hotel, with lots to see nearbyPosted Oct 18, 2015
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms large & comfortable
Cons: Would ask for fridges in rooms, as water gets very warm quickly.
Location: Lots of places to eat nearby, and some lovely country walks. Lovely mountain views.
We stayed at hotel Laxnes for 5 nights in October. We found everything about it excellent. The rooms are very warm, had to ask for heating to be turned down, which was done with no problem.

Go to another hotelPosted Oct 18, 2015
Location: Nice wool shop nearby
After staying in Reykjavik and lovely B&B's around Iceland, this hotel falls short on many accounts. Weird smell...tacky decor..bad breakfast... Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.

Lovely HotelPosted Oct 16, 2015
Lovely friendly hotel in a quiet location not far from Reykjavik. We hired a car however there were bus stops directly outside hotel. Would definitely stay here again in the future

Great Hotel and locationPosted Oct 9, 2015
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel, the location is good if you have a hire car and don't want to be all the way into the capital. Peaceful. Beautiful view of mountains from our room. Breakfast is ok, nothing special. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it was great having the small bar there (which I couldn't hear from our room) where locals came in and had a chat with us! Rooms are as warm as you need them to be and beds were surprisingly comfy for a hotel!

Hotel with CharacterPosted Sep 27, 2015
Pros: I like its quirkiness, not old fashioned but get again not ultra modern. Did have a hot tub though that you can use.
Location: Outside of Reykjavik, if you have a car, can get to the attractions other wise you would have to book a trip
We found this hotel to have everything we needed. Our deal was Bed and Breakfast, that suited us and we knew this before we went. Plenty of eating places very close by KFC, Subway, Domino Pizza, Burger bar if you wanted food on the go. In the shopping centre was a very good restaurant and if you show your room key you got 10% off your meal. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit, the fish is to die for. The hotel was in Mosfellsbaer outside of Reykjavik, we had a car and it was easier to get around although I am told that public bus service is good. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Perfect for what we wantedPosted Sep 26, 2015
Hotel was clean from when we entered, rooms where cleaned on a daily basis. Shaun and the team are really helpful, friendly and welcoming. Hotel is about 15 mins away from city centre so light pollution is low, which means you are able to see the northern lights from the hotel. Sports bar serves fantastic food which is 2 minute walk up the road. Would recommend, perfect hotel and great team! *****

Great location for venturing out north of RPosted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: The staff, rooms. and quirky furnishings. Fantastic views and very close to Reykjavik.
Cons: Cant think of much, it has got its own character
Location: It's surrounded by fast food places, so initially you think you are in the wrong side of town. They were good showing us a very nice Bistro nearby.
At first you think that it's just a roadside hotel, but once you get up to your room you are in a totally different world. Fantastic furniture in corridors. We stayed on the 1st floor and had great views over the countryside. Rooms were very confortable and spacious. The staff was great and the guy at reception had a huge knowledge about the area and went out of his way to help us getting some trips sorted out. Very easy to drive into Reykjavik (10min). Will definately come back here.
