fantastic placePosted Feb 9, 2016
Pros: Friendly staff and great view
Cons: nothing need changing
great place and staff our very helpful and they will sort your tour out, there is also a bus stop out side and it is very easy to get in to Reykjavik at a cost of £2 each way and they are on time. There are also 2 super markets near by ( 1 minute walk) as well as a bar that dose happy hour from 4 to 7. we had a lovely view from our room and on our last night we could see the northern lights from are room. also the hot tub was fun especial in the snow. When we go back we will stay here again.

Great 3 night stayPosted Jan 24, 2016
Great 3 night stay at Hotel Laxnes. The staff are very helpful and assist wherever possible. The only one thing to note is that this hotel is about a 30 minute bus journey into downtown Reykjavik. Overall a great stay and would definitely stay again. P.S The waffle maker is a delight!

Excellent LocationPosted Dec 11, 2015
Pros: The Bar, Room
Good Hotel for the price. Excellent location to start your trips by car. The included bar is also provided to locals which makes it easy to talk to Icelanders. Rooms are nice, warm and clean. Supermarkets and Restaurants in walking distance.

Quiet boutique hotel with spectacular views!Posted Dec 4, 2015
Pros: Clean and warm room. Hotel staff friendly and accommodating, especially Shawn. Free parking. Breakfast is great as it gets you started for the day
Location: Easy access to the city center by hoping onto a bus just outside the Hotel. Lots of food chains around to grab a quick bite.
Great hotel! We checked-in late, and our keys were ready on our arrival. Highly recommend a stay here for anyone visiting stunning Iceland!

Cosy, warm friendly hotelPosted Nov 21, 2015
Enjoyable 2nd visit to Iceland. Hospitality at hotel was very good, made to feel welcome on arrival. Breakfast very good especially the waffles, and the room was warm and cosy. Would definetly recommend if wanting to be away from the main tourist area of the city. Would definetly visit again

Great stay.Posted Nov 10, 2015 on Hotels
Had a great stay at Laxnes last week. The staff were very helpful and the hotel is right over the road from the bus stop for Reykjavik, with the number 15 taking 25 minutes into town. The breakfasts were good and I really discovered a love of waffles here. Great powerful shower in our room too. Like many other guests we saw the Northern lights from the hotel - something that would be less likely if staying in central Reykjavic.

The basicsPosted Nov 3, 2015 on Orbitz
It's a budget hotel outside of Reykjavik so you really get what you pay for. There are no toiletries provides aside from liquid hand soap and shampoo, no pens for writing notes or postcards (we couldn't even get one from the front desk) but the room we stayed in was very spacious with a great view. Continental breakfast wasn't our taste but there's a great bakery just a block away.

LaxnesPosted Oct 30, 2015 on Hotels
We chose Laxnes because of its location outside Reykjavik and easy access to touring the SW Iceland area. Well placed for touring,it is a friendly,if slightly quirky place and Shaun, who manages,is most helpful in arranging any tours or assistance that the guests need. Breakfast is adequate but for evening meals one has to take a walk to one of the fast food outlets close by,or down to the Alafoss Café,but beware of the latter closing at 8 pm in the off season. The nearby bakery is amazing. Had a three night stay but our room, though clean, was disappointingly not made up at all in that time.
