The parking garage was great but not clearly marked or easy to get to. The hotel was not well marked either. But place was nice and brewery/restaurant was great!

Avoid staying in their annex.
Started badly with confusion over parking availability, when none was available we were directed to a car park that had closed over a year ago. Main issue was that our room was in an annex, the building being another hotel that had closed. Although the room was pleasant, the entrance and stairway was dark, dismal and depressing. I would only stay here if the room allocated was in their main building.

Convenient & Clean Hotel
This is our 2nd time to stay in this hotel while visiting Heidelberg. It is very convenient to everything! The rooms are spacious & clean. Check in & out is so easy. We will stay here on our return trips as well.

Difficult to reach the hotel because the approach road is being dug up and once you arrive parking is awkward, cramped and expensive. Staff are very good, very efficient but our room could only be reached via a steep set of stairs after the elevator which was difficult with luggage. We’d booked a ‘large’ room which turned out to be about 5m x 5m so the standard ones must be tiny. There were no tea-making facilities, no jug and not even a bottle of water. Breakfast was good and again the staff are lovely, but our one night stay was pretty expensive because breakfast and parking added 40% to the bill. Next time we’ll try somewhere else.

Brilliant hotel, great food and location
I was attending a conference in Heidelberg and chose this hotel because it was more reasonably priced. It's a great, local hotel with a superb beer garden that serves great food. I had Ox cheek two nights in a row! The only negative was the parking garage is a bit tricky to manoeuvre out of.

Disappointing, potentially dangerous.
Room was clean and adequate with a fridge which was useful. Twin beds as expected, not particularly comfortable and with one saggy pillow each - a bit poor to be honest. No air con or even fan on 30deg night. Shower was over bath, bath had no non-slip area and although there was a handle on the wall it was poorly positioned for either shower or bath use. Light switches are right beside bathroom sink, which I believe contravenes safety regs - it certainly does in the UK where a distance of 4’ is required between water and mains power/lighting circuits (low voltage shaver sockets excluded) and I would presume this to be s European standard? Breakfast was very good, large selection and good quality. All staff we interacted with were very pleasant and helpful. We had lunch in the braueri too and that was also excellent. The place was very noisy - we had expected it to be lively in the evening given the type of accommodation, and as expected that ceased at about 1130pm, but it was extremely noisy in the early hours and by about 6am we’d just had enough of things being moved around (what - furniture?) doors slamming and the like. In all, a good place to eat and drink, but I wouldn’t recommend a stay, sorry.

Wonderful Hotel in Hedelberg
This wonderful hotel is located on the edge of the Old City and within walking distance of all of the major attractions in Heidelberg. The restaurant, brewery, and beer garden are nice and the food is as good as any of the restaurants in town. The tourist information center is just down the street. The staff is very helpful.

The hotel and restaurant/brewhouse are up the mountainside close to the funicular station to the castle ruins and the mountain top. Construction in the area and cobblestone streets requires taxi service. The food and beer are stupendous as are the staff. The only drawbacks are the lack of outlets (only one for the entire room) and the navigation of staircases with a heavy bag. I'm getting older and losing my pack-mule mentality.

Disappointment in Heidelberg
The location was great for seeing the area. Our 3 rooms were spread over 3 different buildings, 2 of which had no elevators. None of the rooms are air conditioned, with only 1 small window for ventilation. The mini frigs were luke warm, they offered no ice, & the rooms didn't even have the standard water heater for instant coffee or tea.The bar/restaurant area is under the window, so it was very noisy till it closed. We were all disappointed because we were expecting something quaint with an attached brewery. It is definitely not that, and it only had 3 beers being offered. Overall, I would choose a different place to stay.

Nice brewery-restaurant-hotel in the old city
This place is really about the restaurant and brewery. They beer is fantastic and the food really good, fairly priced traditional German fare. The hotel is right in the old city directly under the castle and a five minute walk from the both old bridge and the Heidelberg-Altstadt station. The rooms are completely modern. Only complaints: I have to give the breakfast a B grade for lack of variety and not hot food and the WIFI was really spotty. I would stay there again.

Great Hotel In The Shadow Of The Castle
This is a great property in the heart of the Altstadt (Old Town) of Heidelberg and is a unique complex of a couple of buildings consisting of a hotel and brewery in one and a dramatic dining room and pub in the other. You cross the courtyard to enter either. The staff is very accommodating and professional. Breakfast is well worth it and the pub serves some classic German fare. It was interesting that they do not have a contract agreement with Hotels.com and while I booked with the assumption that I paid in advance, the hotel only took the reservation and did not charge in advance. Be prepared for this just in case you budgeted differently.

Don't stay here!
You couldn't swing a cat in the room we were given so small, the bathroom was smaller than a house that has a small en-suite! If you sat on the toilet you were not able to turn slightly to get the toilet paper, no room what-so-ever. The room was clean though. We paid £100 per night for room only and the biggest disappointment for me was there was not even a kettle to make a cup of coffee on the morning. I have never stayed anywhere that this facility was not available. I did go to reception to ask for this but the girl on reception informed me we were not self catering and that no kettle was supplied to any rooms, so my advice would to leave this hotel well out of your choices. We travelled round Geemany for 3 weeks and this was by far the worst room we had.

Strange hotel connected to a great brewery/bar/restaurant! We were greeted by a pretty abrupt receptionist and sent up to our rooms which were clean and tidy but very low on facilities. For example, there was no tea/coffee-making available in-room, which is fair enough, but for a hotel that offers breakfast AND is associated/connected with the restaurant across the yard, when our request for a tea or coffee was met by the receptionist with directions to Subway, we were surprised and disappointed to say the least :-) - However, the hotel's in a great location and the beer from the brewery was fabulous, so that made up for a lot of other minor deficiencies! Overall the previous hotel we'd stayed in across town was much better, but if you like a raucous restaurant, great beer and easy access to all that Heidelberg has to offer, then this place is perfectly OK to "get your head down"

Quaint and Quirky
A nice hotel situated in the Old Town. Unfortunately our room was in a separate (old) building to the main hotel with a walk of about 100 meters from the reception. Access to the room was up several flights of stairs as there was no lift and also meant passing the kitchens of the restaurant housed on the lower floor. This meant there were strong cooking smells and noise from the kitchens at peak time. We were not asked if we were happy to be in this annex which clearly we would have preferred not to be. That said, the room was acceptable although in light of what I've described significantly over priced at €137 a night.

I am no stranger to Heidelberg nor to this hotel. Excellent place, great food and beer too. Location at the edge of the alt stadt is perfect for walking tours on the haupt strasse or over to Neuenheim. I recommend this place over all others.

Kind of disappointing
We booked this hotel room for €145 per night. A comfort room. When we arrived at the front desk and looked in the restaurant it looked promising. When we got into the room we were greatly disappointed. It had the charge of a motel 6 room. For a 3.5 star hotel it didn't have any flair. Also don't go with the pictures. They show a room with a bathtub and a fairly large bathroom. Ours was big enough for 1person turning around. The rooms also show 2windows, ours had one. We decided to book the breakfast buffet but it was a huge disappointment as well. €12 euros per person get you stail breadroles, bread, some variety of cheese which tasted not fresh, Jughurt in plastic containers and juice in small water bottles...oh, and cereal in two gainers like you buy them in stores. The breakfast buffet is served in the kitchen. There is zero love in either the breakfast or hotel room and way overpriced. The love is in the restaurant, breakfast area and check in, but that's about it. For American standards I would rate it with maybe 2stars and a normal basic complimentary breakfast...nothing special and definitely not worth €145 per night. The location whatsoever is decent. At the corner of the old town in a small side street with a great jazz club in the area. I certainly found other hotels within this price range with similar customer ratings...

Its an adventure
The hotel staff was pleasent and helpful, and once in the room, it was clean and spacious. Getting to the room was an adventure, especially for us in our late sixties. One had to walk around the block from the reception area, through an unmarked door in a old building, into a dark hall next to a kitchen for an adjoining restaurant, up two flights of narrow old wood stairs to finally get to the room. Fortunately a staff member was able to help us with our luggage, otherwise we would not have made it. We were told that this was not a service they normally provide, so we were grateful for their help. The wi fi was not good, and there was a power failure in our room over night which was repaired in the morning. It is a nice hotel for students, but would not recommend for older or business travelers.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is location just below the Heidelberg Castle, which offer a short walk to get some good views. The hotel is location directly next to the brewery with some tasty beers.

Beautiful modern hotel inside, all re-done but looks old outside. Rooms large, bath large, tub shower combo. Small fridge in room. Safe not easy to use- unlike every other hotel safe. Very easy and quick to get to and from Bahnhof-- take bus 33 from outside train station to Nekarmunzplatz and that stop is about 50 meters to hotel, and takes 17 minutes and costs only 1.20 , easy. Hotel gas restaurant attached, but it is quiet at night. Hotel is short walk to main platz and castle, very close to all tourist sites. Windows open in room, no AC. Great pillows, mattress hard.
