Nice hotel with a lot of benefits

Great staff. Good food but a bit pricey. We never did figure out the pool and the room was dated. The tub was very slippery and the water controls confusing which resulted in a minor injury the location was excellent.

Close to convention center

Nice mid range hotel that has confortable and very inviting environment. It is close to the city center and to a great variety of restaurants.

Good not Great

Pros: Delicious buffet breakfast. Walking distance (7 min.) to the main train station. Friendly, English speaking staff. Comfortable beds. Pool and sauna.
Cons: Hairdryer was broken and not fixed during my stay. In-room safe not working. No drawers in room, just closet. Conditioner and moisturizer in bathroom.
Location: Easy walk (with luggage) to main train station. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Beautiful park across the street.
This is an older hotel that specializes in functions (weddings, meetings, etc.) The rooms basic and not recently updated, but the price and location are good. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The bar staff was overworked but friendly and the bar is a comfortable place to hang out and have a drink or a lite meal. Rooms on the small side, with few amenities, but beds comfortable. Windows open, and that made a real difference since we were up on the top (5th/6th) floor and it was warm in Mannheim during our stay and the air conditioners weren't working yet. The pool is very nice, and the sauna (5 euro) is great for getting over jet lag. Breakfast in the hotel is included for some room rates and the buffet is ample and delicious. One (of two) elevators not functioning so we took the stairs a few times. In-room hairdryer broken and apparently not fixable. Shampoo and soap provided but would appreciate condtioner and moisturizer. Nice shower.

Better ventilation please!

The location of this hotel is excellent, just a few minutes walk from the main train station, and across the road from a lovely urban park. The outside looks amazing and the staff on reception were great. I had a single room, which was quite small, but sufficient for my needs. The pool was very good: warm, clean, well maintained. All rooms have free wi-fi, which is excellent, and the speed/reliability was OK. The bar area was good, and the breakfast had just about everything you could ever want to eat for breakfast! I have really only got one issue with the place, and that is the lack of ventilation/air-conditioning. My bathroom had no ventilation at all, so any steam from the shower went straight into the room (I imagine that any unpleasant smells from the bathroom would go the same way). And, on a 'warm'(not 'hot') April day, the room was absolutely stiffling. I opened the window as soon as i arrived, but the room temperature never really improved, which resulted in a very poor night's sleep. I liked the place, and would probably stay there again next time i'm in the area, but please try to improve temperature control!

This hotel needs to be updated NOW! For the price you pay and what you actually get is not right. It is 2016, not 1980.

Beautiful on the outside, dated rooms.

Friendly front desk service. Provided extra pillows when requested. Room dated but clean. Good water pressure. TV did not work but we were too tired to care. A free bottle of water would have been a nice extra. A charge of 2 Euro for coffee in lobby. Complimentary would have been expected given the room price. No coffee maker in room.

Mean reception lady

I gave 1 for service because of one receptionist (woman with short yellow hair) who was not helpfull and was mean. I have not seen that kind of service for a long time. We were tehre for wedding and we were late and I was asking receptionist just one small thing - to give me my room key (room keys are very heavy, so we were leaving them at the reception) as we were late for the dinner. But she was speaking on phone for 10 minutes and fter was checking in one more customer. I was really polite in the beginning and begging for the key (it takes 2 seconds to give the key) but she on purpose was asking me to wait. And it is hotel for WEDDINGS, so why they are not taking care of that? Other receptionists (men) were really very and very helpfull and friendly, except that lady. And that's why it is score is one.
