Exactly as reviews explained it

Location: Great running near the river and good restaurants nearby
The reviews on this hotel were very accurate (both the good and the poor). It is a comfortable, clean hotel that is very outdated. It was perfect for my husband and me for one night. I probably wouldn't stay more than 2. It looks like they are doing some remodeling on the outside but the inside of the rooms is what really needs it so hopefully that is part of the process. Overall we were satisfied with our stay as it was exactly what we were expecting

Pros: Good value. Breakfast. Room with a view of the Rhein.
Cons: One improvement we would suggest is to provide kettle/tea/coffee in the room.
No complaints at all. Staff were excellent ad spoke fluent English. Top floors were being refurbished and our room was a little dated, but really clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet is good, not just a bread roll - cereal, scrambled eggs, Wurst, and cold meats and cheeses!

I'm normaly not too picky about hotels, but this place realy has seen better times. It seems nothing has changed since the 80s, it fells like somewhat of a time warp. Luckily, renovations are underway. There's a lot to do! The personnel was nice, but made a tired impression also. Hard to say why, it seems the overall vibe of the place is dragging everyone down. I regret having spent the 8€ a day for the breakfast buffet. The coffee's good, everything else is rather poor quality. The Holiday inn express typically has better quality, and is included.

Reception and breakfast was fine, staff were fine - but the rooms are in DESPERATE need of refurbishment. Like entering a time warp to the 70's,

Pros: price was low and quiet room. Wifi reasonably priced.
Cons: decoration needs an overhaul.
No major gripes, very tired looking room but clean and comfortable. Room was quiet enough and perfectly ok. most staff were fairly neutral but a couple were friendly.

Pros: Rooms were reasonably large and comfortable for the 3 of us.
Cons: Provide scrambled eggs with Tabasco sauce to breakfast buffet in addition to standard German fare. Low-budget way to improve selection for US guests.
Location: Hotel is near Rhine river. Rhine has has expansive walking/riding path next to it. Near old town where you find Mainz Cathedral and Gutenberg Museum
Rented room for 3 adults. Beds were typical German style sheets (covered comforter). Modest, but sufficient, breakfast provided.

Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Decor needs revived
Location: Near the Rhine - pleasant to walk along. Walking distance to train station and town centre (15-20 mins walk approx)
The staff were very friendly and the room itself was ok, although the bathroom was quite small. There is no bar area to relax in the evening (or at least if there was I didn't see it). The breakfast was excellent. Overall the hotel was fine, however the decor could be revitalised a bit.
