Riverbend #1 - base of Mt Hood + Private Hot Tub

Riverfront cabin in Mount Hood Village with kitchen
Summary:
This Cozy little cabin has been fully remodeled with all of the amenities you need to relax, unwind and escape. The Sandy river flows loud and fast directly behind the cabin drowning out all other noises, giving you the sanctuary of nature to relax into. With a hot tub overlooking the river you won't find a more tranquil vacation spot!

The Space:
At the base of Mt Hood, this cabin is the perfect place to unwind after a day of Skiing, sledding, kayaking or white water rafting! The cabin is fully equipped with just about every amenity you would need in a rustic cabin! The best place to take in all the beauty this peaceful setting has to offer is from the private hot tub on the deck!

The bedroom is snug, with not much room beyond fitting a Queen size bed in there. Much like a camper you cannot walk around the bed but there is a little space on one side to get in out from. We provide all of the linens for the bed, however if you plan on using the futon let us know in advance so we can bring up the extra linens for those sleeping areas.

The living room is equipped with a comfy full size fold down couch, if you would like an additional sleeping space for an additional guest please reach out and we can provide you with an air mattress as well although it will be a very tight fit for both the air mattress and futon to fit. The cabin is also equipped with a porta crib, however the porta crib will not fit in the bedroom.

The kitchen has full size appliances and a nice amount of counter top space. The coffee table pulls up to provide you with a little area to eat from as there is not room for a table and chairs in this cozy cabin. We supply pots, pans, dishes, silverware, coffee pot, coffee, condiments, pantry items, and just about anything you would need to prepare a meal.

The bathroom has a tub/shower combo, and we provide the towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

There is a wood burner for extra warmth and we provide an initial bundle of wood to get you started on your first night of arrival. We work with a local provider who you can purchase additional indoor and outdoor burning wood from, and they will deliver it right to your cabin.

On the deck you will find a little outdoor table and chair set, a BBQ grill, propane and private hot tub. Behind the cabin you will have your own fire pit and outdoor area.

Parking is right next to cabin and there is room for 2 cars and a small trailer with boat or other toys.

Wifi is the fastest available for the area, registering at 3mbs. Many guests choose to do work-cations and have had no issues accessing the internet for zoom calls, etc.

Pets are welcome with advance notice, agreement to the pet rules and payment of a pet fee. Reach out to management for specific details regarding pets.

Guest Access:
The entire house is for guest use including a private hot tub, an outdoor fire pit, and the side yard.

The Neighborhood:
We are centrally located between the cute and quaint little town of Sandy and Timberline Lodge at the top of Mt Hood. This location allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds from a day spent at one of many beautiful parks located in Sandy to year round Skiing up at Timberline. Some popular activities in the summer include hanging out at the many parks along the river in Sandy, white water rafting down the Deschutes river, kayaking at Trillium Lake, horseback riding, summer tube slides, winter tubing, mountain biking, and hiking just to name a few! In the winter you might enjoy Cosmic Tubing, Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowshoeing up on the mountain and hiking, mountain biking, or fishing in the lower elevations! There is a chance of snow at the cabins in winter and we do our best to keep the driveways clear.

Getting Around:
You will need a car to get around in and in the winter you will need chains on your tires to navigate the mountain roads.

There are shuttles that go up to the mountain ski areas and the pickup location is just down the road, you will need to research those options and schedule your pick up/drop off.

Other Things to Note:
Cell phone service is spotty I know Verizon phones get no reception, Att gets great reception, and I am unsure of other carriers. The water is from a shared well and tastes like iron, we suggest bringing up drinking water if you don't like well water.

There is a possibility that you might cross paths with some of the creatures who’s space we have invaded including mice, squirrels, chipmunks, birds, spiders or other bugs. There will be no refunds or discounts provided to those who have such encounters even if the encounter happens inside the cabin. We do our best to keep them outdoors but they are small and smart and know how to get in.

Well behaved dogs are allowed with a $25/night non-refundable pet fee. Only 1 dog is allowed in the cabin. If we receive any complaints about your dog barking excessively, acting aggressive towards other guests or being allowed to roam into neighboring yards off lease, we will be forced ask you to leave. Thanks for understanding!

Interaction with Guests:
There is a lockbox to allow you access to the home and we will give you your privacy but we are available if you need anything.
Guest accommodations at this cabin offer coffee/tea makers and hair dryers. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and cookware/dishes/utensils.

Bathrooms include showers. Smart televisions are featured in guestrooms.

Trying to Get a Refund is a Nightmare!
We were notified 8 minutes before we left to travel that a tree had afllen on the property. There were no other properties in the area after doing a search, so tried to get a refund from our trip insurance. They did not want to refund our money, but wanted to us to book another trip. I had to go through my credit card company to get the refund. Our credit card company says this happens all the time, because the trip insurance VRBO sells does everything possible to not refund your money. Really hesitant about booking anything withem in the future

Wonderful stay
We had a really great stay at this property. It’s in a good location, a rather short drive from the mountain. We were able to drive up and go sledding and snowshoeing. The wood stove and hot tub were great for warming up. The pantry was fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking which was awesome. We would definitely return if we wanted to stay in that area again

Perfect for a quick adult get away
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect. You are close to the mountain for a day in the snow and close enough to town should you need anything. The River view from the hot tub is awesome. The only thing we would have changed is the mattress was not comfortable and was missing a mattress protector and the sheets were super thin. We recommend adding a pizza cutter and potato peeler to the kitchen gadgets available. Other than those few things we enjoyed the space and would definitely come back. The property manager was quick to respond if we had questions or needed anything.

A Cozy Couples Get-Away
My husband and I escaped to this sweet little cabin for a long weekend and we had an outstanding stay. Aside from some small trash and cigarette butts around the property, this is an amazing location. The area is beautiful and the yard and porch are expansive with a great view of the river. We didn’t have cell phone reception but that was expected and the WiFi provided all we needed. The kitchen was great, I was able to cook all weekend comfortably. Our favorite feature was the hot tub with a spectacular view of the sky at night, it was beautiful. We had a great time and loved this place, we will definitely be back!
