Close proximity to allow great drives

It's the perfect setting for families with farm animals. Perfect for day trips to most parts of Tasmania. If you love history, it's perfect for you

Peaceful location and relaxed atmosphere

Posted Jun 10, 2017 on Hotels
Great value for money, set in an historic town just 20 mins from Hobart. Felt very much at home in the accommodation. The room was self-contained and generally comfortable with the exception of the old bed mattress and the sinking sofa, which is the only criticism. I would recommend Hatchers Richmond Manor as a place for location and excellent value. Would definitely consider another stay in the future.

Quiet hotel in nice grounds

Posted May 15, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: Quiet and out of town.
Cons: The mattress in our bed was rock hard.
Location: Richmond is a delightful historic town with the oldest stone bridge in Australia and many historic buildings.
We stayed over for only one night so couldn't take full advantage of the grounds and facilities, but it was a pleasant stay. We were in a loft annex near the main house. The room was spacious but was such an odd shape that the bathroom was very small.

Lord of the Manor

Posted May 6, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: The opulent bathroom and beds, the surroundings
Cons: a draft stopper for the front door, quite a lot of cool morning air crept in!
Location: Richmond is an old town with much to see and explore, although some things at quite an entry price.
Complimentary upgrade to a luxury room that made you feel like you were lord and lady of the manor. Serene surroundings just out of town that made you want to stay. Friendly staff that wanted to help and look after you but kept their distance.

2 nights stay

Posted May 6, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: Value for money and meals.
Cons: Professional presentation of the staff was lacking but they were amazingly friendly and helpful. Great job.
Location: Historic town of Richmond was fascinating. I spent 2 days exploring it and there is still so much to see.
Lovely inn on the hill. Pretty and comfortable. Meals were fantastic and great prices. Great value for money.
