grandma's sheets look better and are less worn...

stayed with son and dog. As the pet friendly choices are limited, we decided to stay here, although it was not very conveniently located for us. the pull out couch linen in the room was not only dirty, the replacement set that we had to pick up from the reception, was in a condition that reminded me of our stay with grandma each year. These sheets and the blanket were probably due for replacement some 20 years ago...The yard work looks great, by the way.

The hotel was very easy to find and just off the main road so everything was close by (but not within walking distance). When we arrived there was only one staff member and we were third, in a line that grew as we waited. She did an excellent job of handling the situation but she definitely could have used help since the phone rang almost the entire time we were in line and being waited on. The hotel was fairly clean and comfortable. I am a neat freak, so the shower area could have used more cleaning. The showerhead needed to be cleaned and on the top there were fingerprints and it was sticky. Also the shower curtain rod hadn't been wiped off in quite some time. (Again plenty of watermarks and fingerprints). Also apparently someone had opened a new shirt, putting the extra plastic wrapping pieces on top of the fridge and housekeeping didn't find them in cleaning. The last issue was the people in the room next to our bedroom had their television rather loud so it was a bother when trying to go to bed. Other than that we never heard any other outside noise. Again I am a rather picky traveler but overall this was a good nice hotel.

Valentine's Day Visit

I stayed at this Marriott on a stereotypical day, Valentine's Day. While my significant other was working, I came early to decorate the hotel room. The front desk employee was friendly and very sociable, offering me a Valentine's Day mug with candy! Upon my arrival to the hotel room, I did find long strands of black hair in the tub, which was surprising housekeeping would "miss this". Fortunately, I always bring my own cleaning supplies whenever attending a hotel. Other than that the too was cozy, very nice, and spacious. Breakfast was okay, but if you're banking on meat, sausage patties was the only meat offered. The food was not hit and fresh either. This was at 9 o clock. Breakfast begins at 7am. Overall, I would attend this hotel again!

Check in was seamless and I really enjoyed the comfort of the room. Also liked that they had breakfast and refreshments available.

Quick Marathon Weekend Stay

I was there for the Richmond Marathon. The hotel was good and clean, although my room had a weird smell when I arrived. I think it was since the air had been off so there was no airflow. I had looked forward to using the pool, but it was outdoors only and covered for the season. Since it was a Residence Inn, I was surprised there was no indoor pool. However, a Courtyard Marriott is across the parking lot and guests were allowed to use that pool.

Week Stay

Stayed there a week while recovering from surgery. Room was comfortable. The breakfasts and the weeknight socials were a plus.
