The facility is much improved from our stay last year. Rooms have been upgraded and everything worked. Neighborhood is OK -- light industrial.

Decent hotel for the money

Posted Oct 12, 2015
This isn't a 5 star place, but given the price its on par with what you would expect. Clean and nice enough for a good night sleep. I've stayed here twice now, and would go back again if I'm just looking for a place to rest my head without breaking the bank.

I was in the area for my father in-law's funeral. I booked this hotel because it was close to the funeral home and church and because a lot of family were in town and no rooms at house. It would have been nice to have known that this hotel was located next to railroad tracks. It would have also been nice to know that hotel was being renovated. I woke up with my four children, mother , and friend thinking that we would get something light to eat. However, when I went over to the office to ask where the breakfast was being served the guy behind the counter said that they don't have anything because of renovation but that there is a diner down the street. I'm not sure that guy kids or not but anyone who does knows that is not an easy trip. Also, I said earlier I woke well, let me just say this I counted nine trains that went by during the night. enough said.

Great value, I'd recommend staying here.

The front desk service was welcoming, and the room was surprisingly large (okay, I'm from New York) and very clean. It was everything that we needed, free wifi, coffee (regular and decaf) and tea in the room, along with a fridge, all at a great rate for the night. (The fridge was particularly useful, after eating at Hoodoo Brown Barbeque just down the road. If you're a fan of barbeque, this place is a must.) This Days Inn is off the highway and so you can hear the cars driving by. This wasn't an issue for us, it was very moderate noise and was easily tuned out, or could even be thought of as just a white noise generator. Also, in our room (room 202 or 203, I think) the hot and cold water faucets for the shower are reversed. This only took a couple minutes for me to work out since some of the faucets in our place are like this too. So I don't think this is a big deal. (FYI, a construction friend told us this often ends up happening when working with Mexican laborers because c in Spanish is caliente which means hot, so they attach the hot water to the c faucet, which of course we're expecting to be cold.) I'd recommend a stay here if you need to be in the area and want a cheaper option than the ridiculously priced B&B's in the area. It's basically what you would expect, or maybe even nicer than you would expect, for a Day's Inn. (I had been worried when I read other reviews for this place, but I was very very pleasantly surprised and we had no issues at all.)
