“Check in was easy and efficient. The room was all that could be expected, plus a few extras. A jar of a variety shortbread biscuits was a surprise along with an extremely varied options for hot drinks, i.e. Horlicks. A bowl of fruit was also an unexpected delight.
The bathroom was well appointed, with shampoo, soap etc in pump pots.
The bed itself was supremely comfortable with more than sufficient coverings. A large fan completed the array of convenience items, really handy with recent weather……
“Excellent facilities. Lovely breakfast. Large room with nice clean bathroom. Pleasant and helpful staff. Parking available on site. Location is very central and a short walk to the centre of the village. Also had a very nice walk to a waterfall which finished back at the First & Last Brewery Tap for a refreshing couple of pints of the local ale. What's not to like!”
“Lovely hotel, beautiful location by river, handy for local places of interest.Hadrians wall, lots of great walks, lovely villages nearby.
Room good, clean and spacious, food excellent at breakfast and in restaurant.
Staff, particularly on reception were very helpful.
Highly recommend this hotel, and would love to stay again in future.”
“Beautiful setting, nice hotel and amenities etc.
Was disappointed with the soundproofing of the room as I could hear the people in room 9 snoring all Friday night ( I had little if any sleep) and I am registered partially deaf in both ears. I did comment to the receptionist in the morning and was told the rooms in the main house were better soundproofing as regards to maybe staying again in the future.”
“Lovely room however the large radiators were belting out high heat all the time and they could not be turned off in your room, the temperature was like a sauna. A fan was provided but hardly took the edge off the sweltering temperature. The windows could not be unlocked so no air in the room. Such a shame or it would have been perfect.”
“Excellent staff very kind and hospitable and very nice pub food and breakfast.
LargeTV screen to watch the World Cup and BBC I player to catch up on the highlights, all good.”
“Set in beautiful surroundings, full of birds, deer and red squirrels. Room was pleasant, clean and spacious. Lovely friendly gentleman looked after us and gave us great information about the local area. Very peaceful place to stay, great value for money and would definitely stay again”
“This is a little gem of an inn. The drive along the way is picturesque and Otterburn itself is darling. Our host for the Old Post Office was very accommodating. We arrived after the normal check-in time and she was very welcoming. Our room was immaculate and our shower had lots of hot water. Breakfast was excellent, including our coffees (flat white and vanilla latte). We also enjoyed the back patio area with plenty of seating. Definitely recommend this inn!”
“The bedroom was excellent, clean well furnished and appointed. The only small criticism was that there was a lack of comfortable space away from the restaurant space and bar but as we were only staying one night this didn’t matter too much. The breakfast was excellent and the bar food, whereas it was well prepared, was a little limited in choice. We would however stay again.”
“Don’t bring a cat - there’s no room to swing it in the bedroom. And the TV was comically small. That being said, it was clean and tidy and the food excellent. Staff also very friendly.”
