Hotel with friendly staff and excellent location.
This is an old, soviet style hotel which is part of it's charm. The real value is the friendliness of the staff and the excellent location.

We have never seen so much of empty pathos! Located in the very hear of a nice city of Kiev, this hotel is nothing of a decent hotel. Ceiling and wall plaster rubbish met us right in the reception hall. Rooms are poorly equipped, old last century TV sets in rooms, constant problems with room access keys. Objectively, we can't say that hotel staff was rude, but at the same time they were NOT as polite as they are supposed to be for a decent hotel. We had to stay in this so called "hotel" because it was for one night only and we had a no-cancel/non-refundable reservation. But we would NEVER again set foot into that building for the prices they charge for rooms the best description would be is a shameless rip-off!!!! Our recommendation stay away from this so called "hotel". As it turned out within a 5-7 min walk there are several other true hotel!

right at centre of Kiev. very reasonable cost. breakfast was fine and plenty of choice. hotel room was clean, but basic, it was comfortable comfortable. no plugs for bath or sink. reception staff spoke good english. staff friendly

Horrible hotel, great location.
Dirty room all around. The carpet is disgusting, the bathroom is ancient and dirty, the front desk people are as mean and grumpy as one could ever imagine. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Other than that your only other joy will be checking out and leaving.

Decent hotel in the heart of Kiev
A good choice if you want to stay in the center of Kiev. The hotel restaurant (for dinner) was really amazing. The break fast at second floor was not for us. Typical Ukranian break fast maybe? We did not like it. The receptionists were VERY helpfull and tried to help me even though they didnt have to!

I liked this hotel mainly for its location: it is right in the middle of Kyiv and within walking distance to most tourist places.

Great location, friendly staff, nice rooms! Check-in was very easy and smooth, reception staff member was helpful and ready to answer questions. Location is perfect, right in the heart of Kyiv. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Racist staffs
1) I booked TWO rooms in Kozatskiy Hotel on 6/30/2018 ­2) 1 room was reserved until 7/5/2018 and another room was until 7/6/2018 ­3) I am a 5 foot 8 Chinese, and I had my 6 foot Ukrainian girlfriend. ­4) On 7/4/2018, while I and my girlfriend was walking towards the lift, the security guards stopped my girlfriend and talked only in Ukrainian while ignoring me. 5) I and my girlfriend proceeded to the reception, and that was when the reception staff, reluctantly, told me that all guests were required to register. Even though the security guards had seen me and my girlfriend several times the 2 days before and had never asked for registration. ­6) During the incident, MULTIPLE people, whether they were alone, in pairs or in group passed through us, and the security guards DID NOT stop and request ID from any of them. ­7) My girlfriend ID was left in the hotel room, and therefore she could not present it. She was DENIED entry into the hotel at the end. ­8) I then proceed to the lift alone (NEITHER the security guard NOR the reception checked my ID or verify my identity), when I passed through the security guards, they were LAUGHING at me. 9)­ I packed all my luggage and left the hotel 2 days before the checkout date. The security guards intention was CLEARLY to separate me and my girlfriend solely because of our interracial relationship. There were other people passing through us alone, couples or group while the security guards DID NOTHING.

This hotel is a Soviet-era place that has not entered into the 21st Century. Although some staff friendly and helpful, many were not..even putting their noses up at what they considered to be too low a tip! Not recommended...

Very simple hotel not the Hilton.
Nice and clean some old fittings and bathroom could do with an upgrade but clean and we'll serviced I was comfortable and will go back. Didn't like the no credit card payment only cash .

Doors to rooms not secure
Location is excellent and for the price point we didn’t expect modern luxury. Bed was clean and it was a fair price. What wasn’t acceptable at any price point was the condition of the doors to the rooms... the wood was worn away around the locks and the handles were loose. Did not feel safe in the rooms!

Fantastic location for a slightly older hotel.
This hotel has a fantastic location right on the main square. There are lots of beautiful sites just a short walk from the hotel. The square in front is very lively until 11 pm. The interior is getting a little old but it was clean and nice with a good buffet breakfast. It is also directly above the subway station.

Good location close to supermarket and Independence Square. 5 minutes walk to Metro and St Sophia. Nice breakfast. Needs updating but a good choice in Kyiv city.

Book it if you like Soviet style and location!
It is the location that made me book it. Central to the main tourist sites. Room is very primitive and looks like the old Soviet times. Staff was very helpful in fixing a 'breakfast box', since I was leaving before breakfast time. OK hotel, but I will most probably not book it again.... There should be better places....

Prime location, cheap, worth the money
Very good location and great value for money. Rooms are stuck somewhere in the 90’s, but comfortable nonetheless. Didn’t spend much time in the room. Breakfast was OK at best, but again, budget hotel so not high expectation, there’s a McDonalds across the street though.

The hotel behavior on the time of check inn it was very poor manner. The assign me in an inferior room without any classic comfort, no telephone ,no toiletry no clean floor in the bathroom Long female hair from previous occupant so I went back to reception and they give me a different room not any better I will never recommend that property even if is free of charge

I have been three times in this hotel, on last time they give a creepy room with an ugly bathroom, so I had to ask for another room and they did it not too happy and I had to invite my girlfriend to drink tea in my room on last time and their security guard got close to my girlfriend and started yelling in Russian, treating her as a prostitute and I asked to customer service what’s going on and why they treat my girlfriend in incorrect manner ... they answered me in a bad mood telling me just “forget it”... and after this incident their security guard tried to apologize and told me “prostitute no problem but I just need pay for the price under the desk... This is a crap of hotel for decent people...

Great hotel in the center of Kyiv
The hotel is located in the old building near Independence Square, but far from the main road and it’s pretty quiet there, so it’s possible to sleep even during day time, despite location. The beds are sof and comfortable, the breakfast was sumptuous and staff courteous and attentive. Good 1 night stay

No frills, basic, clean comfortable accommodation.
This hotel is very basic. The carpets and furnishings are old and worn but clean and serviceable. It is situated right at the heart of Kiev so perfect for sightseeing. Its cheap and as lonv as you accept thst you get whst you pay for you will be happy with the accommodation. We have had trouble checking in 2 out of the 3 times we have visited with reception questioning the prices we reserved at with Hotels.com and wanting to charge us more. Luckily I always print and keep copies of all my bookings and was able to argue the issue. If you just need a no frills bed for a couple of nights this hotel does the job.

Close to shopping.
First nite was in low budget, low scale room. Upgrade for nites 2-4, much better cleanliness and quality. Hotel is undergoing renos, so hope for better appearance next time. Shower did not drain properly on upgraded room, that was a major turn off!!

Old hotel need some facility renovations.
This is an inexpensive old hotel. Bed was nice and clean but my first room smelled cigarette though no smoking policy. There was a water dripping from bathroom ceiling. Hotel gave me alternative room which was somehow OK. Staffs do not smile. Architectural plan is interesting but I can say here are no interior decoration. Breakfast is not too bad. Internet signal was strong and fast. I may like this characor of the hotel. Location is very center of the Kiev city and convenient for restaurant and shopping.
