Idyllische lodge mit tollem Ausblick/FreizeitaktivPosted Jul 31, 2015
Pros: Die Betten waren super!

Perfect getaway for Rincon de la Vieja NPPosted Apr 14, 2015 on Hotels
Rinconcito Lodge is amazingly beautiful! The rooms are simple, but comfortable. The staff rocks, especially David! It is located in a remote area perfect for accessing the park, so it's not too close to shops or restaurants, so plan ahead for a quiet location and bring some snacks along. Your main entertainment in the evening would be night walks and drinks and dinner at Rinconcito's restaurant. If you take a tour and need a guide, ask for Walter. He is THE BEST.

Comfy ranch style innPosted Apr 5, 2015
Though the location is close to the Rincon de la Vieja, we ended up taking an unpacked road to get there. The location was beautiful and the restaurant food was great. The biggest drawback was the lack of wifi ability. There is only wifi available in the restaurant but not in the rooms. And the wifi at the restaurant was beyond slow. The pool also appeared a bit greenish. Staff was incredibly friendly and really enjoyed the place otherwise.

I'd pass on this unless you have no other optionsPosted Apr 4, 2015
The rinconcito lodge is not far from Liberia airport and is situated close to the national park but there is little else in the area meaning that you have to eat at their mediocre and overpriced restaurant unless you can swing the 30 min drive into town. I experienced a bit of cabin fever as the place shuts down around 8pm and with nothing in the area, it sort of confides you to your room, which wouldn't be so bad if the room was comfortable and/or clean (which it is not). The bed had these tiny gross bugs on it (not bed bugs but still very gross) and the window was broken so that it couldn't be locked. The bed was soft and lumpy and the pillows were flat. It wasn't the worst place but I would definitely take a pass next time around.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and very affordable. The setting of Rinconcito Lodge is beautiful--isolated, lush, very peaceful. Nice hammocks or rocking chairs on the porch of each room, so you can relax at the end of the day and enjoy the peaceful setting. There's a great 4 km hike that starts on the property and goes up a dirt trail to a main road (ask about this at the front desk). It's definitely helpful to have a rental car here if you want to get out and explore, but you can also take a taxi to the park entrance. There are no restaurants nearby, so without a car, expect to eat at the lodge restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food--didn't have super high expectations, but it definitely wasn't bad. Overall, Rinconcito Lodge is a very good value, and I would definitely stay again.
