Serene Beach Resort

Posted Apr 4, 2017
Pros: Staff, facilities, strong drinks!
We had a wonderful time at Melia Braco. Every single one of the 50+ (estimating) staff that we came in contact with over our 4 days went out of their way to be friendly and make us feel at home. It never felt crowded, was always easy to get a meal or a beach chair, and had a good mix of people. It was NOT the spring break crowd or kids running everywhere, which was perfect for us. Mostly 30-50 year olds I would say. It was amazing!

GREAT resort! We will definitely return!

Posted Mar 6, 2017
Pros: The Level!, staff, food, beach, location
Location: About 45 minutes from Montego Bay and 40 minutes to Ocho Rios, this resort is smack dab in between the two cities so easy to do tours and fun things!
This resort is a 10. We stayed in The Level which is worth every penny: private pool, private beach, private bar and restaurant, concierge, more relaxed feel. My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon there, and we have nothing but good things to say about it. We really do not have any cons. The staff were so friendly. Many of them remembered who we were throughout the week and greeted us every time they saw us. I read a few reviews about the staff being pushy for tips.. We did not get that vibe at all. We actually wanted to tip because everyone was so great. The food was delicious (yes, even the buffet). 876 Prime steakhouse is AWESOME (perk of staying at The Level: the higher end steaks are included and you do not have to pay extra). The beach is a tad rocky once you get out into the water so bring water shoes but the perk about this - you have great snorkeling at your very own beach. We saw all kinds of fish, sea urchins, etc. from the comfort of our own resort. We loved the laid back, relaxed feel of the resort (especially The Level side). Another perk: where the resort is situated, you are usually the last ones to get on the buses for the tours so you do not have to wait on a bus while they go from resort to resort picking up people! It was great. We will definitely be returning and recommending this resort to everyone we talk to. Two thumbs up!

Don't get confused with bad reviews! Just got back from 10 day honeymoon vacation, still have sunburn! Great resort on smaller side, amazing food and staff! They always keep you entertained with shows and activities. Don't let little things ruin your good time! Only downfall is beach is bit rocky bring water shoes! We Highly recomend this place!

Fantastic Resort!!

Pros: The service, The food, the décor and beaches are well kept, enjoyed the domino table and Ludie board games.
Cons: more choices for Cognac in Level Lobby.
Location: not far from Montego Bay Airport. Dunns River close by also Falmouth
I would gladly recommend Melia Braco to anyone who would like to experience a taste of the real Jamaica on a resort. The staff is warm and friendly just like the golden Jamaican sunshine. the food is exquisite, weather you are dining in the 879 Prime Steak House or the Teppanyaki restaurant , Ogrille is authentic Jamaican cusine, as an expatriate of Jamaica the peppershrimp had me coughing but I could not resist as it was sooo delicious, the curried goat was out of this world , the brown stew fish is to die for. The street party brought back many memories. love it!! The coconut man ....wow!! our waiter Marvin from Ogrille provided excellent service. Staying at the Level is an experience I will never forget, because the service that was provided to us by the staff. Carlton at Concierge was exceptional, he anticipated our needs and went above and beyond the call of duty to make it happen. Senna, Juliett, Simon provided great service.

Perfect getaway on beach

Posted Jan 30, 2017
Cons: Queen beds instead of double beds.
Location: Dunn's river falls
Melia Braco Village is a gorgeous resort with a village feeling. The resort is not large and makes staying here very homely and comfortable. The staff is very pleasant and does a terrific job. Clayton the lifeguard is friendly. Food at the resort was average. Rare steakhouse is a must. It has the best food the resort offers. Zamar is the best waiter in the steakhouse. Conrad and Odain were very friendly at the pool bar and made our visit pleasant.

Pros: food
Cons: cleaniness
Food was delicious. Staff at the restaurants were great, bartenders at the pool bar were awesome , nightly entertainment was good. Beach was not cleaned daily trash was washed up on to the sand and tangled within the rocks making my morning walks unpleasant. , housekeeping did not sweep or mop floors inside the rooms daily.

Dear Susie, We are sorry to hear that the bags left on the beach after cleaning were disturbing you. We take note. The last weeks we had some windy days that brought an unusual amount of algae. Thank you for your feedback! Best regards

If you want to relax, this is the place to go.

Posted Jan 23, 2017
Pros: customer service
Cons: the obstacle course better entertainment
Location: We did the ricks cafe tour, it was FAR but it was nice, we had a lot of fun.
My boyfriend and I went for MLK weekend with two other couples. We are all mid 20's - early 30's. The facility is nice and cozy, however, it is rather small, i prefer having more options. The beach is TERRIBLE, very rocky, all 6 of us cut our feet during our stay. We were looking to have a little more fun and be closer to activities and night life however this is not the place for that. I do have to say that the customer service was AMAZING, they do go above and beyond to make you happy. My only other complaint was that my boyfriend had some issue at the obstacle course they have, the D-ring that was suppose to hold him up was broken (very dangerous), thankfully he climbs at work and he noticed it was not right. He also ended up getting stitches after cutting his ankle at the end of the obstacle course (zip-line part) which was not completely padded (i mean children get on this stuff, it should be COMPLETELY padded). The hotel took care of the cost of the stitches which I appreciated. Overall, if you want to stay in the hotel and relax, go here. If you are looking for a young crowd and awesome entertainment, this is not the place to go. And PLEASE be careful if you decide to do the obstacle course, hopefully they fixed the issue by now.

Very nice

Posted Jan 22, 2017
Smaller resort but beautiful and super clean. The staff was very nice and warm. Food was delicious and there was a larger variety of restaurants on the resort catering to many different tastes. The only only downside is that the beach was rocky so going into the water without water shoes was a little painful bit that's not the resort's fault.
