Excellent and Relaxing Vacation!

Posted Jan 4, 2017
Pros: People, Layout, Amenities, Laidback Nature, Food, Nightly Entertainment
Cons: Communication of hotel activities and hotel layout. Live music during the day would be nice?
Location: Dunn River Falls, Ocho Rios Private Tour
The hotel was in excellent shape and the atmosphere was very relaxing. This is the best food I have ever had at an all-inclusive resort. Lots of choices and very good! Every person that worked there was extremely pleasant and willing to help or just to talk. Everyone from the maintenance to the bar tenders and front desk were great. A few that stood out and really made our vacation great were Akeem and Jasmine. Thank you very much for the great experience. We will return!

Nice hotel, but it end there....

Posted Dec 22, 2016
Pros: Rooms were nice and right by the beach but our door to the balcony would not stay closed
Cons: Communication and stop taking advantage of tourist
Location: Dunn river falls, just ok Sunset dinner cruise was not a dinner cruise and started at 1 pm with pick up!
Our hotel room so close to the beach was terrific, boutique and unfortunate it is located here. Hotel staff at front has no concept of real customer service. No one knew what was going on. The services offered to get around are inconsistent for cost and because they have no laws to govern this they take advantage of tourist. The locals can taxi around for a few bucks but be prepared to spend a minimum 50-100 US dollars to go anywhere outside of your resort. They charged us to snorkel at our own hotel! We felt very taken advantage of, especially when I got ill and they would not take any health insurance I had and purchased at the time I booked my trip. The hotel promised hubby transfers back and forth and charged up the wazoo, not a courtesy at all. Room service menus were not in our room, no activities listed for guest anywhere. You had to go to the front office to update if you wanted to find out anything. I wish this hotel were located elsewhere but we will never return to Jamaica!

Hit and Miss

Posted Dec 18, 2016
Pros: Beautiful place, nice rooms, food was great, some staff were awesome.
Cons: Some staff need to go, need better follow up on room issues, beach is rocky not much you can do about that.
Location: Great location for excursions.
My wife and I had some great experiences here, but also had some poor experiences. It is a beautiful place, the food was good, options were great, and some staff were great (just not all). This place felt a little bit more open and accepting of tips than other all-inclusive resorts we've been to, but there is no ATM, so if you come here, bring plenty of cash for the whole time you're here or you may run out with no way of getting any cash during your trip. We tried getting cash during a shopping trip we paid for specifically to go to an ATM, and that was a BAD experience as well. Some staff are great, but some made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. One example was our A/C stopped working and I talked to someone at guest services once, then I called 3 times during the day before someone finally showed up at 8 or 9pm, and only made it work for about 5 minutes, said they would come back to check on it, and never did. I called 3 more times throughout the next day to get someone to fix it, and no one came until I walked to the front desk and asked again. This again was not until the late evening when someone showed up, and said that an A/C repairman would come in tomorrow. Again, it was never fixed the following day and we just gave up. We just felt like we were an inconvenience to staff in a few different instances, and that ruined our feel for the place.

Nice resort for relaxing vacation

Posted Dec 10, 2016
Pros: 98% of the staff is very friendly and helpful with that great Jamaican sense of fun and humor. Loved the private beach and relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: The staff could promote the extra activities better (table tennis, volleyball, darts tourneys) to get more guests to participate at those times.
Location: Resort is private and secluded as there are not other resorts in close proximity. Can buy off-site excursions & transportation to/from tour providers.
Stayed at Melia Braco Village from 12/2-12/9/16. Overall very nice resort with most of the employees pleasant and helpful. Had interaction over the week with the front desk staff and, with the exception of two of the women (who seemed either uninterested or unfriendly), they were very pleasant and helpful. We needed to have a room change due to water leaking into the room from one of our windows and from a leak in the closet which soaked a pair of shoes and a few clothes hung in it. We were moved to another room the day after we asked within the category we paid for without much problem. The private beach is awesome and is kept very clean by the Beach Staff. Drink service was adequate and the servers were friendly. We never had a problem getting a chair at the beach or the pool either. Bring water shoes as the beach is rocky a short way into the water and the shoes make it much better. We would definitely return to this resort because of the quiet atmosphere, helpful staff, unusual on-site activities (trampolines, obstacle course, power-assisted bikes) and beautifully maintained grounds. The food was good but nothing amazing. We enjoyed the jerk chicken cooked and served everyday by the O'Grille and the food at 876 Prime was awesome (huge portion of steak) and Rasta Pasta was very good too. They had good, local entertainment perform each night including some great singers, fire performer, synchronized swimmers, etc. Would recommend & return to this resort in beautiful Jamaica!

Great hotel in a lovely location, shame about the

Lovely holiday and hotel, unfortunately the food didn't match up to the resort appearance. The food was bland, cold, repetitive and poorly presented -shame as everything else was great.

Dear Alex, we are sorry to read that we didn' t meet your expectations. We have 5 different restaurants at the resort, in addition to Golden Sands, exclusive to The Level guests, and each one of them has a different menu: Asian/peruvian, italian/jamaican, Jamaican and a steakHouse, and of course, Market Place, our buffet which offers a mix of International and local cuisine. We are constantly working in order to improve every day and meet our guests expectations. Thank you for your review.
