Great location for access to restaurants, shopping and the beach. Hotel was great, staff was wonderful and accommodating. Lopes was extremely helpful with answering all our questions and requests. Linhares handled our luggage and kept it secure for us while we explored the city. I would stay at this hotel again if I return to Rio de Janeiro!

Good hotel, but the area it’s not so good, a lot of people on streets that get in your way offering you stuff to buy, doesn’t look like a tourist area with so many citizens going by, not complaining just a comment. Now the outside on on the cabana, restaurants was good.

The Rooms need more amenities. Simple things, like! Pen and paper. Toiletries kit. Nice hotel but information to the guest is not the best.

I booked this hotel for a party of 7, with children aged 2, 6, 8 and 4 adults. The staff were kind and helpful. The area is safe, close to the beach and within easy reach of the key sites. Breakfast was good. I would have given a full 5* review, but despite asking over 12 weeks ahead for nearby rooms the family was split over 3 different floors which was rather inconvenient.

Great location in Copacobana. This is an older property, no coffee in the room or an iron. Mini fridge options are limited. Breakfast was good.

This property had a TERRIBLE plumbing issue. There were days that the shower was cold, the sink was stopped up, and the toilet leaked all over the floor after flushing.

Nice hire across the street from Copacabana beach, clean, friendly staff. We stayed 11 days for carnival Rio de Janeiro. The tickets office for the carnaval are located in this hotel. You won’t regret staying there.

Maybe it is our bad luck, but our room had a moldy stale smell and we developed a persistent cough during the week we stayed in this hotel. We suspect the air conditioner was in bad need of service (i.e., general service/cleaning and change of air filter). Our cough quickly improved once we left this hotel.

PROS: English speakers, excellent staff at the restaurant, amazing location, great views, comfy beds, safe area CONS: the air conditioning does not reach the beds, it only cools the common room. I was unable to sleep and had to sleep on the couch by the AC. Also the noise from other rooms’ windows and doors is very loud

Clean , comfortable Located across beach, safe , polite staff. Breakfast had everything you could wish for . Fruit was delicious . I had a sea view suite -excellent, spacious with views to die for . I don’t know what the VIP benefit for this hotel is . When booking it says VIP access but does not say what you get . Perhaps Expedia needs to list the perks - I know it varies . In room - nothing is free . you have to purchase , coffee and water. Hotel exchange rate for USD is very low . Don’t exchange money here

Excellent location and the floor to ceiling, wall to wall oven view on the 9th floor was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and hearty that set you up for the day. Close to grocery store and pharmacy. The roof top terrace was nice as well. Thanks.

We had a wonderful stay at the Arena hotel. Emerson at the front desk was extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions, and navigating the city. He was thoroughly attentive to our requests and needs during our 7 day stay. The rotating breakfast dishes in the buffet were really outstanding with incredibly responsive and friendly restaurant staff. Can’t ask for a more convenient hotel directly in front of Copacabana beach.

Was taking a week long course at the hotel. Included breakfast was tasty and a sizable Brazilian buffet. Across the street from the beach. Excellent over all.

4 Star Hotel? I think NOT!
At best I would say this hotel is a 3 star hotel. The only good thing they have going for them is the location, the staff, and the newly remodeled rooftop deck and pool. The room was outdated, but what was really bad was the cleaningness of the space. The room over all had not seen a good cleaning in a long time. The bathroom probably even longer. The shower head was disgusting and the mildew in the shower prompted me to ensure I wore my flip flops why showering. I would never stay here again nor would I recommend it. Not sure how anyone could rate this place anything beyond 4/10.

The location was wonderful! Centre of Copacabana Beach! Super! The service was excellent and staff was very helpful! The room was clean but sort of ordinary, ie nothing to write home about. The shower was as powerful as Niagara Falls, but the sink faucets sadly were only a trickle. Hard just to wash your face. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant food was also good. The vista from the top of the pool bar area was stupendous!

The Arena Hotel is very convenient to everything I needed the room was very clean room service was pleasant The locals are very helpful went on tours got picked up at the hotel door step all and all, I will definitely book at this hotel again if Expedia gave me the VIP discount during carnival.

Great hotel right on Copacabana beach
Really enjoyed our stay here. The room and bathroom were spacious with a large bed and a large shower. The breakfast had many items to choose from and was served over 4 hours so was very flexible. The pool was not very big, but was perfectly fine for us. Would definitely stay here again.

Secure and safe for family travel with young children’s. Just steps away from the beach, supermarkets, drugstores, shops, restaurants. Choose a room with view to Copacabana beach, it is worthy. One of my kids got sick during the travel just before returning home and we went to Hospital Copa D'Or, highly recommended if you have any health issue and very close to hotel. Rooftop pool is great at night and during the day. Breakfast with great variety of choice and good quality. Onsite restaurant with very good quality food. A bit to the downside is cleaning which I think the hotel should put more effort on cleaning well the bathroom and the bedroom floor. Check-out should be faster, at least 10 minutes waiting for verifications and so forth. Aside from those minor details, one of the best hotels in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
