Fit for short stays
Hotel workers are great, but the room is really basic and not really appealing. Only stayed for a night and was ok, but I don't think this is the type of hotel you'd book for a long vacation.

The whole area was convient, walking distance to everything. Dinning, stores, transit, malls, etc. I'm planning on going back to the same hotel(ibis) next year!!!

Basic accommodation for short stay
Basic hotel as noted on Hotels.com Rooms are basic but clean. Location is central and close walk to the metro. Area at night is okay, just need to be vigilante if walking around as there are people sleeping on the streets and nearby Hotel shower head from the ceiling could be better. Service was great, however English was not spoken, hence needed to speak Spanish. Overall service was friendly and efficient. Just be careful as there's poverty and beggars living within 30 yard proximity of the hotel entrance Our stay was for only one night

Not recommend for a good experience in Rio...
I do not recommend this hotel, I had trouble on the check in with payment confirmation, once in the room it looks old and not up to IBIS standard, the area is really trashy and there is no parking, and when there is the street guys wants to overcharge you. Pick another hotel.

The hostel was good. Had a single private room. The below is a review for the check-in process which was bad. Not entirely their fault but things could've been better. When I checked-in, the entire city was on a blackout so the checkin was in a mess. I had to wait for office for about an hour to run through paperwork to checkin many people before me. Finally the checked me in but with keys (since they couldn't program them). I can enter the room but no lights and no AC. I had to come down at night to get a key when electricity came back.

Good location, close to downtown and Santos Dummond airport. The room needs some maintenance, nothing big, but there are some details that make you feel that. Restaurant charges cannot added to the bill.

Comfortable, economical option in Rio Centro
The hotel itself is a budget hotel, and does not have fancy amenities. However, my room was clean, comfortable, had a good work space and solid WiFi. I found it to be reasonably quiet during the week, a little more boistrous on the weekends. The location is fantastic for anyone staying in the Center. The refrigerator comes empty so you can put what you want in it. The buffet in the restaurant was simple comfort food and tasty (salads, vegetables, beans, rice, soup, bread), with reasonably good options for a vegetarian, and meat and fish options cooked to order. I was happy to eat there several times during my week-long stay. The best part was the staff. From the moment I checked in, everyone without fail was friendly, courteous, welcoming, and knew my name. And the room rate didn't break the bank. I will definitely reserve there again when I go back.

Not recommended! Unfriendly and not helpful!
This hotel is unfriendly, unhelpful and unable to converse in English. Simply put, my friend got into viral infection in Rio. When asked upon them to provide nearby hospital, they just simply recommended one without further help- such as calling to the hospital to ask if they have translators or helping us with the taxi driver since we can't speak Portuguese or Spanish! They also have inconsistency in services by confusing us with the payment of breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant. We know we have to settle every meal by cash upon check in- but some staff told a different story. We were confused and someone accused us not paying when we were actually following the instruction of hotel staff to settle it on check out. Not recommended at all.

Compact , Not far from tourist attraction
Stayed for 2 Nights in January at this hotel. compact and clean . Front office staff was helpful and informative. others are struggling with English , while I could not speak Portuguese. Sign language did help. Breakfast was affordable with not so bad selection. Distance to several tourist attractions such as unique shape cathedral , opera house is within 15 min walk. also metro station is about 10 min walk . the east side of the area gives you a "real life" of local RIO , small shops , local delicacies , drinks etc.

NIce and Clean Hotel near to the business district
Near to most tourist spots and attractions. Using the metro is the most cost effective way to travel to the shopping malls and attractions. Going to Copocabana ans Ipanema beaches is a breeze with the metro and Omnibus combination.

Atenção a lençóis, toalhas, e limpeza do quarto.
O hotel em si é bom, boa localização para quem quer ficar no Centro longe das praias. Mas o banheiro necessita de manutenção cuidadosa, foi pintado com mão de obra de baix qualidade, toalha de banho, roupa de cama, sem cheiro de limpeza, muito pelo contrário sentia o cheiro de suor/gordura. Decepcionante, procuramos sempre ficar na rede Íbis, quando viajamos a trabalho, por ser padrão. Mas desta vez foi decepcionante.
