Overall great experience

Pros: Excellent location and bed was very confortable.
Cons: The rooms need refurbishment, however they were alreday working on it.
Location: Very central. Walking distance from Copacabana Forte, Arpoador e Ipanema.
Excellent location, room very confortable, clean and quiet. We had plumbing issue with toilet and room toiletries were not changed on the second day but no major issues. Nice bar, we did not try the restaurant. Staff very helpfull. Overall great experience.

hotel location nice close to the beach

Pros: the location was great right across the street
Cons: food especially shrimp needs be cleaned properly not black on it. carpet is horrible, needs a lot of updating
Location: shopping walking, beach etc.
The renovations were horrible! The smell of paint went thru the vents, we were high from the fumes the changes us rooms 2 times. There is no spa/shower place. The exercise facility is crappy and stinky. Don't order room service!!! the ceviche made us sick and the shrimp were not properly cleaned.

Nice old hotel far from the real beach

Pros: the calm around the swimming pool the cleanness of the room nice staff
Cons: the mattress in the room
Location: wonderful panorama shopping nearby not good localisation to enjoy Copacabana beach
A good hotel witch don't deserve 5 stars but 4. an old hotel renowned with old mattresses kept. cleanness, staff , ok wonderful panorama from the balcon. very far from the real large Copacabana beach. The hotel is at the end of Copacabana,, the beach is short, the sand is clean but the water of the sea full of garbage.

Very nice hotel in Post 6 of Copacabana Beach

Pros: Liked: Staff, location, view from pool eating area!
Cons: Restaurant service could be improved!
Location: Great location with view of Copacabana Beach and a very short walk to Ipanema. Lots of restaurants and shops and places to look for "trinkets".
Very nice hotel across the street from Copacabana Beach and a short walk to Ipanema Beach. Hotel concierge were VERY helpful with information and front desk was equally as nice. All staff was outstanding! Buffet breakfast was very good and convenient - otherwise, service at that restaurant was pretty slow. Small eating area by oceanview pool has awesome panoramic view of Copacabana beach! Room was serviced very well, and one call to maintenance had response in about 5 minutes! Hotel cars in front are very convenient; drivers are friendly and most speak English - But they can be expensive vs taxi. So check their rates vs taxi and negotiate - or just take a taxi! . Gym and floor 1 area was being worked on and some gym equipment was moved to another small area; which really didn't work very well - but a small inconvenience. Overall, the hotel felt very comfortable and I would highly recommend it!

Cons: Looking a bit tired but hopefully offer all the works are finished that will be resolved
Location: Perfect location. Be careful as my husband was waking on the beach front robed near the hotel
We have loved stay in other Soffitel hotels and we were really looking forward to our stay. (After a Cruse ) The hotel was having a lot of work done a completely spoilt the last few days of our holiday. We were only staying two nights otherwise we would have not stayed. The staf were not well trained especially the bar staff.I ordered the Sofitel cocktail, but I was told, after waiting 30 mims that they did not know how to make it becuse it is never asked for!!!!. The room was lovely and the view was fantastic, in fact the location was perfect but the noise and dust were just to much for us.

perfect for a relaxed stay at Copacabana. Ipanema beach is a few minutes walk. Try the michelin-starred Le Pre Catalan Restaurant. One of the lower levels of the hotel is being rebuilt so try for a high up room unless you dig jack hammer noise
