4.5 stars by North American standards

Posted Feb 13, 2016
This hotel I think should definitely be rated higher than it is. It was a very nice hotel. The room was very modern and clean. Room service was very good. The restaurant was very good. The staff at the front were very helpful. There is security at the front. Air-conditioning was strong. There really is nothing else that you would want. The location is very good for downtown. There's a Metro station very close by. There's a McDonald's and a few restaurants in the vicinity. You are very close to the main square. Excellent job to all the staff.

Hotel near Public Places of Interest

Posted Nov 8, 2015
Pros: Near places of interest.
Cons: Place coffee maker or hot water dispenser in room.
Location: Have a walking tour with RIO FREE WALKING TOUR and get the best insights and shopping tips!
This hotel is value for money! I stayed for 3 nights with my son and we are pleased with our clean room with everything that we need except for coffee maker. The buffet breakfast is also nice. This hotel is walking distance to Theatro Municipal and other historical buildings. However, DO NOT make the mistake of booking your Corcovado and Sugar loaf trips with the front desk! They will book you with Rio Line Turismo, whose tour guide will cut your time in Corcovado and Sugar loaf to rush to a souvenir shop! We were not able to get good pictures with Christ the Redeemer because it was cloudy and the guide gave us only 45 minutes up there! The worst thing is she left me and my son in Sugar loaf because we failed to make it to the agreed meeting place on time! She didn't even bother to go back for us! The worst experience ever!

Very nice hotel in the midst of the action.

Posted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Staff, location and breakfast
Location: Hotel is very close to a metro which makes it very easy to move around. There are lots of restaurants, cafes and historical monuments nearby.
Very nice experience at this hotel. The room was comfortable, breakfast was great and the location of the hotel was perfect if you intend to do shopping and move around a lot. It is also very close to the airport which is great if you have an early morning flight.

Amazing staff!

Posted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: Location
Location: Theatre, museum, parks, metro to get to beaches.
The hotel is in a great location, close to metro and things to do. Clean rooms, good choice of breakfast, great view from the rooftop -Christ the Redeemer!! The staff were so helpful with suggestions of things to do, translations for the odd word not in my pocket dictionary and general friendliness. Free wifi is always a plus too.

Great location in downtown

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Had to take a flight from SDU next day. Took me ten minutes to get there even in Rio's terrible traffic. I even had time to walk to the museum a great Library to have breakfast. It's really close to the subway. The terrace with pool has a great view to relax.
