Nice safe friendly hotel

Pros: The location was close to a lot of good restaurants and beech. The reception also assisted in booking tours and transfers.

The hotel is close to the beach and shopping, the rooms are nice, breakfast had a great selection and the staff were very friendly

Great place very near to the beach

Pros: staff, location, quality
Cons: breakfast buffet, a free water cooler for guests
Our first stop in Brazil! Staff is very friendly and all speak fluent English (and Spanish as well). They gave us great information on how to stay safe in Rio and helped us so much with buying a SIM card to register for Uber. The hotel is a bit of a walk to the metro station, so I recommend taking a bus whenever you go to Ipanema as well as to/from the airport (the 2018 stops one block away from the hotel if you ask for it), and an Uber everywhere else. The breakfast buffet could be improved. Every day almost identical food with nothing Asian (no rice, congee, dumplings) or British (no beans, hash browns, mushrooms).

Great location!

Very friendly staff, went out of there way to keep everything to our liking. The breakfast buffet has a lot of selection. Nice walk to Copacabana beach, and the area is safe. Thank you Windsor Plaza Hotel

Conveniently located

Staff was very professional and friendly. Room very clean but noticeably outdated as far as furniture and equipment. Comfy though, window quite small with uninteresting view. Couple blocks away from Copacabana Beach and lots of shops and restaurants nearby.

Nice hotel in Copacabana

Hotel is near to the beach, room clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfast buffet incluided is really good.

Great Location

The location is great, two blocks from the beach. There is a supermarket and a pharmacy behind it which is very convenient. The hotel has everything you may need for a short stay. Breakfast is included and it is awesome! It is not one of those "continental" breakfasts, it is a real buffet with all kind of hams, eggs, cereals, breads, etc. Breakfast was my favorite. There is free wi-fi. I didn't use it because I don't connect to "open" wifi but it is available. The hotel will exchange US currency for Reales at the market rate. Their tours are priced accurately.

A ok hotel

The checking is slow and we got stuck for 30 min because we did not have photo ids for my kids. Holding my 3 years old in my arms for that long upset me a little. In Brazil bureaucracy is big, everything goes slow. Also Rio is not safe. Even in Copacabana you have to hide your phone. So no hotel can get more than 4 stars and they all charge like is NYC. So not forget this is Brazil and big overrated The breakfast is great. The room was clean. The roof top pool is a safe place to hangout. We will not return.

The rooftop pool, breakfast and room cleaning. In Rio de Janeiro and all of Brazil, there is a law that prohibits lodging of minors without the presence of their parents. The law requires the submission of documentation of the child and parents. Your check in took longer than usual due to incomplete documentation. I'm glad everything was fine despite this discomfort. Windsor Plaza Hotel is good for first Brazil visit

Pros: I liked the staff, Staff was accommodating and personable; they make the hotel. Keeping in mind I'm from the US and have stayed at Windsor Hotels both in the US and other states, there was nothing mind blowing or spectacular about this Windsor, based on the pictures on the website/internet my room wasn't one of those; curtains can use a cleaning.
Cons: Bed was low and soft mattress, TV was too high, cable was in Portuguese (which wasn't mentioned in the hotel amenities) only 1 channel in English, no wash clothes provided, no ice bucket or microwave. Room small but do-able for one person, maybe a couple. No buffet lunch/dinner option.
Location: Copacabana Beach 2 blocks away, supermarket and neighborhood restaurant in immediate area, metro was about 4 blocks away, bike rentals

Great location and staff

Spent 4 nights at this hotel. The staff service was excellent and the location is ideal for any business traveler. Breakfast breakfast is included and has a great variety of fruits and traditional Brasilian food. The rooftop has a nice view of Copacabana. Great stay overall.
