Nice, friendly resort

4 of us stayed at the resort from October 30 - November 2 to break up our 10 day trip to Panama City. Check in was quick and easy and our room was nice and clean. The other couple had an issue with their room not having a balcony and were promptly moved to another room. The food at the buffet was great and there was always a good variety. There was definitely something for everyone and you didn't leave hungry. We ate at the Italian a la carte one night and the food was amazing. We watched almost every night show and enjoyed the entertainment (my husband was even in one of the shows). 90% of the shows are done in Spanish but then again 90% of the guests were Spanish speaking. Although we did not always understand what was being said, we still had a great time. We especially loved Nemo from the animation staff. Anytime he saw us, he always engaged in conversation and made sure we were having a great time. The beach was nice and relaxing with beautiful views of the Pacific. We wished we could have stayed longer and overall we had an amazing time!

Playa Blanca Beach Resort, All Inclusive Resort

Pros: Grounds land scape.
Cons: Hotel Staff, food, facility cleanliness, recreational equipment and area.
Location: Only other hotels nearby. Near by rivers flood hotel beach front waters with muddy mucky waters and swimming not recommended.
After a 2 hour trip from Panama City appeared at front desk at check-in time 2pm and was told check-in was at 3pm. Showed them our reservation which indicated 2pm check-in time. They gave us a number for check-in purposes. After awhile we were processed for check-in. Horrible hotel staff courtesy and customer service. We were told building closest to the beach # 7, and room on 3rd floor, no offer of assistance. Had to remove two lizards and exterminate numerous mosquitos in the room. All inclusive means fruit juice, soda drinks, and terribly prepared food choices. Black beach volcanic sand and recreation area was a disaster, a four foot sand barrier was erected on hotel property beach side to prevent sea water intrusion on to hotel recreation areas. Of two hotel pools only one was available for use, so all guest crowded into the one pool next to building # 7. Impossible to relax in room due to the noise emanating from pool area. Was approached by a hotel affiliated sales group to purchase hotel discounted vacation plan, when asked to see and read contract, sales rep. said, "you can only read the contract if you sign it first". Scam. Unfortunately, we had enough of this hotel and departed early before our reservation end date. We will not recommend this hotel to friends, family, or anyone else. If, Expedia values customer satisfaction a partial refund is in order. Thanks for the opportunity to comment

Hotel new management is bad.

Pros: The room sizes are large, (2) queen size beds, and (2) large pools. The chef fixes omelets at breakfast. Price includes food, liquor and beverages.
Cons: MANAGEMENT!!! Rooms should be ready with working safe and towels. Water and TV should always work. Meat should be tender and taste good.
Location: Location is on the ocean. Small casino, masseuse and tourist shop on the grounds. New strip mall nearby, but right now in 9/2017 mostly empty.
Needed to wait for over an hour for someone to activate the safe. No towels in the room, so we ordered (4) towels decided not to wait for them and received (2) towels. Called back for additional towels and received them while we were at dinner. Tried to take a shower and no water. After several hours, we had water and was able to shower and flush the toilets. At some point we loss the TV service and decided to go to sleep. The TV service was working again in the morning. Couple of the meats were very tough and hard to eat ... actually I tried and couldn't eat them. Pool hours are from 9AM to 6PM. The elevator had a bad odor and sometimes didn't work. The card key turn the light green on the door, but the door handle doesn't always unlock the door and can take several tries, which requires reusing the card key each time. Eventually, I learn to pull the handle up and then down, which seems to work. I'm an expat in Panama and this was my favorite resort in Panama for 12 years, but will now start using other resorts in Panama to find a new favorite.

Hotel staff aren't as friendly as other places we have stayed. Costa rica, jamacia bahamas, punta cana, etc.. Maybe its because in panama us currency is used. So exchange rate is 1 for 1.

My first room didn't have towels at all. The room didn't have hot water. Requested to change room and the second didn't have hot water also and the door didn't work. Third day I changed rooms again to Tower and much better place but again no towels or soap.

Cons: Rooms needs to be updated, sink funcionality (not working) AC not cooling
The name of the resort is not right should be playa black the sand is black and disgosting
