Quiet & Comfortable Gem

!Hola, everyone! We stayed 5 nights at Barrio Latino, and my girlfriend and I had no complaints whatsoever about the room or the staff. It is an extremely quiet, clean, and safe hotel on a side street a couple blocks off noisy Quinta Ave. It was a welcoming place with an always locked front gate and 24-hour person at the front desk to let us in or out. The staff were exceptionally nice and friendly, and most (but not all) speak some English if you don't speak Spanish. Some speak English very well, so there were no questions that couldn't be answered. I speak conversational Spanish, which helped here, but isn't necessary if you're an uncomplicated person who just wants a pleasant hotel. If you are (or travel with) a person who has a lot of requests, or tends to ask the staff lots of questions, knowing some Spanish/having a language book may be a good idea. Our room had a comfortable King bed, beautiful tile mosaic shower, and fast AC unit that got the room cool pretty quickly. The room also had a convenient lock box for passports and other things you didn't want to carry around with you. The continental breakfast at 8am has a really tasty blended green fruit juice, plus good yogurt, some pastries and cold cereal. Coffee and tea, the usual. The maid made our room spotless every day. There's a clothesline outside each room for hanging wet things to dry overnight which was super useful. They scheduled and confirmed our 4am taxi return to the airport which was very helpful.
