Location: Loved the resort, but will not go back to the Riviera Maya area just because of the seaweed.
We booked the Palafitos, and it was great to be near the pool/beach/Aguamarina area. Staff are generally great. Food was very good. I can eat my weight in their guac & chips.

Intimate setting, quiet getaway

Cons: A cold pool in the spa would be nice. We struggled with the tipping culture. It's described as optional but not clear what would be reasonable to do
Beautiful resort with excellent amenities. The venues are quite spread out so not good if you have trouble getting around or want to always be in the action. The beach is where most of the action is located. There are still many places to sit along the beach and it's busy but never felt crowded given the small number of guests that are there. The food venues are excellent and there is a good variety to choose from. Not always gourmet but a big step up from the usual offerings for an all inclusive. The staff are all very accommodating and helpful.

Amazing!!!

Location: Perfect location, beautiful beach, and gorgeous jungle surrounding the property.
Before I actually took this vacation I read many reviews on different sites, and a few times thought about changing my reservations. But ultimately I ended up sticking with the Blue Diamond. I conducted hours of research regarding activities, amenities, and many other things. The hotel was everything that I hoped it would be and more. The staff was amazing. The beach was beautiful. The spa was perfect. The food was delicious. I really look forward to my next trip to this hotel. Words can't fully explain the amazing experience my lady and I experienced here. Thank you Blue Diamond!!

STAY AWAY!!

Pros: There were no children. The best bed that I have ever had in Mexico
Cons: The maid service absolutely sucked! I asked front desk 3 times, on 3 different days to fill outdoor tub and it was never done. Lawn mowers at 7am.....
Location: It is a 300 pesos taxi to get from hotel to town, each way. There is nothing to do close by.
This place was far from my expectations. We arrived at 8am after flying all night. Went to the beach and had lunch while waiting for room. Room was just OK at best although the bed was good for my back. The next morning the phone started ringing at 7am and wouldn't stop. They wanted us to go spend the usual 90 minutes to sell a time share. We probably spent more than 90 minutes telling them NO. My wife had a 80 minute massage that she enjoyed. 3 other mornings we were woke by lawnmowers, weed eaters, blowers, etc. The maid service was the worst!!! They never replace coffee, sugar, etc. We had to find someone to ask for it daily. They even stole our slippers!! The restaurants were OK, the only thing that ever changes is the dinner menu. We went to town twice so we ate there. Delicious food in town. Café Sophia's is really good!! The showers get water everywhere as does the sink. I would not recommend this place. I have been to this area many times and this is the worst that I have been to.

If you're questioning whether to book this hotel, just do it! You won't regret it. Our stay here was fabulous. The best part about the resort was the food. The rooms were spacious and nice but the only downside was that you have to take a golf cart down to the beach or a 15 minute walk. The resort is set up as if you are in a jungle so there is a lot of wildlife around the resort. Only down side about lush scenery are the bugs. We found a few ants in our bathroom. Overall I loved our stay here and the service was excellent!

Palafitos

Pros: Food, drinks, beach, staff. Most of all it is very secluded. Almost as if you were in your own tropical rain forest. The staff is truly amazing!
Location: Lots of things to do nearby. Markets, fishing, boating, snorkeling, landmarks, clubs. All with in minutes of the Blue Diamond.
Excellent stay at the Blue Diamond. Peaceful, attractive and tranquil! The food was delicious and the beaches were very clean. The service is remarkable!

Beautiful setting, terrible service

Pros: Nature. Our room faced a "cenote" with turtles and crocodiles. It was just beautiful. The lobby is also very impressive with a huge palapa.
Cons: Everything about the service. Food was really bad, even though it was all inclusive we opted to go out for dinner twice. Staff was very unfriendly.
Location: Location is good. Close to Playa del Carmen and just 40min from airport. You can visit " cenotes" and Ecoparks.
Went for a 4 day trip to reunite with my sisters. The hotel setting is impressive but the service was really disappointing.

Outstanding resort to relax.

Pros: Very quiet and relaxing. Adults only. Not a typical "mega" resort.
Cons: Eliminate the room service delivery fee.
Blue Diamond is a small resort but quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed the resort so much that we extended our stay by another day and the staff was extremely helpful. Had butler service for all 4 days and they were terrific. Took care of any needs or questions. Bartenders at the pool were fantastic. The staff made us feel like part of their family. Definitely would go back again.

Terrible staff attitude. Terrible food. Terrible service. Spa and gym close at 7:00 even in high season. Asked for repairing air condirioning never happened.
