Our suite in the new Eden area was wonderful! All the new areas of the resort are excellent and a welcome addition! The resort needed some renovation, and the new areas are spacious and decorated well. The jacuzzi area is nice and big, MUCH better than the old space. Overall the resort is clean, and well maintained. The staff does a great job- from the service at bars and restaurants, the playmakers, the housekeepers, butlers, and front desk staff- good people and well trained. We appreciated the action during the day at the pool and at the bar and disco at night, but the best thing is- you can go to your room and it is quiet:) We also really appreciate the quick check-in and check-out AND not being bombarded (at all) about buying a membership. Well done DRM, we'll be back again!

We did like our stay, just were not "wow'd" enough for the amount paid. Thankfully we got an upgrade (btw - elevator was broken) into a room in Eden, which was very nice, but without it I would've felt very disappointed with garden unit for $1K/night. New entrance/lobby is not impressive, weird "naked"/not decorated, drop off circle on the hill... The absolute best part of this establishment are the employees, all of them, from gardener to concierge, to cooks, cleaning people and servers, literally all workers are very nice and attentive, they create very comfortable atmosphere. Food is great, drinks - not so much, while the liquor variety is good, the mixes and juices used are poor quality. Separately about the disco club. Not sure if its done purposely, but the music gets very very bad around 12.30am and then club is completely cleared by 1am. Huge disappointment. Really a dealbreaker. Now, "playroom" at the disco is another disaster, whoever designed it and didn't prioritize upgrading it in years, has very little understanding of what "lifestyle" is. Having many available and unused spaces on property, they should definitely convert those into various playrooms. Overall the resort has a disjointed feeling.

The Beach was very dirty with seaweed. We like to walk the beach every day but the tide and walls make it hard to get around.

The staff are special people. They went above and beyond to make sure that you felt at home. There was construction going on and we lost power and hot water a few times. However, the staff were wonderful in up for it. Some staff have been there over 15 years and they remember your name and what your likes/dislikes are. That is special for us.

Great place for a special vacation. Staff is the best the hotel offers. Everyone is super friendly and will make sure you spend the best vacation ever. Desiré Riviera Maya is addictive, you go once and you will go back many times.

The service from staff is amazing …above and beyond. The private dinner on the beach was so delicious and elegant. Amazing music selection at dinner and parties We were told of a room upgrade that didn’t happen. The spa is a little pricy …same as in us…alcohol selection is also expensive then in US. Good wine selection.

Although it cannot be helped, it's unfortunate that we cannot walk very far along the beach. At this time, the beach is rapidly decreasing. Added to the fact that we can't walk down the road due to possible alligator encounters, it's difficult to walk anywhere during a visit.

Food could be better
We had a great time. More variety in gluten free food options and more change in daily buffet food choices would have been better. The jacuzzi is quite small for the number of guests but a new one will be opening soon. Wasted too much money on the couples massage, my therapist was maybe not seasoned, although my husband was happy with his, just ridiculously expensive. The doctor on staff was excellent and very caring, I will now recommend everyone get travel insurance for foreign country travel (I didn't have it and doubled trip price after emergency room visit). Can't rave enough about the excellent customer swrvice here!

We have been to Temptation, a sister resort a few times and wanted to try Desire RM. Our expectations of Desire RM being a fun, sexy, safe and higher end resort were exceeded! The staff make it fun and safe and help to get the guests involved and to meet each other. The guests range from the 70s to the 30s and everyone we met were friendly and fun and interesting to talk to. I highly recommend Desire RM. We will be going again!

This was my first time at Desire. Excellent staff, great atmosphere and a whole lotta fun ! Everything I needed was at my leisure. I have a few recommendations at the night club they should incorporate other types of music besides disco and Spanish music. I heard 3 Afro beats songs and 1 soca song from 1999. Also if you're there prepare to have a presentation for timeshare while this is a norm it shouldn't be so aggressive. That's the only part that dampened my day. Jorge is the best chef on the resort the food was excellent and the choices were just right. Also they should have a better system with pool seating.
