Amazing resort in paradise!

Cons: Housekeeping!!! Our particular maid should find a new career!
This hotel is top-notch! Premium alcohol, friendly and respective staff, and wonderful restaurants with seriously GREAT food! Pools are beautiful- love that they provide rafts and built-in lounging for sunbathing. Spa was spectacular. Entertainment like dance lessons- were so fun. Housekeeping was awful! I only wish I would have bought cleaning supplies to appropriately clean the shower, sinks, and tub.

Disappointed - Rooms Problems

Cons: ROOMS!!!
Location: We did not leave the resort as we traveled with a 6 month old.
We went for 5 days with a 6 month old. Resort looks upscale. Pools and beaches very clean. Staff is friendly, but seemed like they were only friendly if you tipped. Rooms were extremely noisy. Seems as if walls are paper thin. We were able to hear all conversation from the room next to us. At 1 am , I still couldn't sleep due to ladies walking in heels in the hallway and children running. Hallways echoed so much that the noise was extremely annoying. In our room ,the lights were very dark. Also, the screen door to the balcony was ripped and bugs kept coming in. On top of that, when I turned the air conditioner on and went out to dinner, my room had a leaking ceiling next to the closet. I called the front desk and maintenance came to fix it. The man stood on a ladder and got drenched in water when he opened up the opening in the ceiling. He fixed the problem. Next day, same thing occurred. I did not switch rooms because I had already unpacked all our stuff. I did complain and this time when they fixed it they really did fix it. Room Service took 35 minutes each time. Restaurants seem like they all serve the same thing. Breakfast was the best as they had a buffet style and all food groups to choose from. Other than that everything seems fried and unhealthy to eat. The beach had seaweed laying around in the sand. Overall, I would rate this resort a 3 and would not return.

El Hotel Dreams Riviera Cancun es realmente excelente. La amabilidad de su personal, las instalaciones, lo magnífico de su organización y la gran variedad de su todo incluido es realmente recomendable. Mi familia y yo pasamos unas vacaciones perfectas a pesar del clima un tanto lluvioso. Quiero resaltar que este hotel realmente cumple con su garantía de satisfacción al cliente y por esa razón merece ser recomendado. Aunque es un resort de gran tamaño, el huésped realmente se siente acogido, bien recibido y atendido. El personal está realmente capacitado y siempre dispuesto a ayudar en cualquier cosa. Las habitaciones son limpias, las camas son cómodas, las instalaciones son cómodas y el área de albercas es muy bonita....ojalá pronto podamos regresar. TIP AL VIAJERO DESCONOCIDO: Conveniente rentar carro, elegir una habitación en el Prefered Club y si es posible solicitarla con piscina privada, son realmente bonitas.

Great staff, clean, good atmosphere

Location: Chichen Itza is absolute must. Try to disconnect from the sheer marketing pressure on site and focus on what a great city Maya people has created.
It was early-Christmas vacation. We returned just before the Christmas. Hotel was not crowded at all until last 3 days - which we liked and aimed for. The whole staff from the first encounter at the front desk till the last bell-boy who loaded our luggage were so courteous, friendly and helpful. The lobby was decorated in style - everything was UpSideDown. Literally. Fully decorated Christmas tree, sleigh, presents... All hang from the sealing, sparkling and reflecting from mirrors. Great picture opportunity. Tireless staff kept the whole premises clean through the rains (we have gotten a few) and strong winds (which visited occasionally) Food was little shy in terms of choices for vegetarians and lacking clear indication, but upon request, very friendly waiters and cooks have addressed specific requests in multiple occasions. We did not like restaurants. We are picky (mix of vegetarians and paleo) and somewhat demanding (noise, speed of service, ambiance...) We have tried one - Italian - and did not like anything about it. World Buffet - on a contrary to restaurants - showed a world class service. Team of waiters, hostesses, captains created great atmosphere that welcomes you, makes you feel at home. To note a few names there - captain Carlos, great waiters Santos, Williams, Fernando, Fidencio, Alfredo, Andre... (remember what you like, proactively serve things you usually have, manage your special requests, make you feel in best friends house) ,hostess Rosalinda,Mireya

Beautiful setting with exceptional service.

Pros: Great location, accommodations, restaurants with exceptional service.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
Location: We stayed at the resort which had everything we required to enjoy our stay.
This was our 4th stay at this resort. Dreams has 7 restaurants and, with one exception, do not require reservations. There are 3 pools to accommodate all ages plus swim-up bar. Resort provides entertainment nightly in the Rendezvous Bar. The service is first class and very friendly. We booked our room at the Preferred Club with a King size bed and a Plunge pool and would do it again.

For Easily Satisfied Taste

Pros: Nice kids club with a lot of activities.
Cons: More variety in lunch options. Desserts should be kept cold, the food should be protected with a glass panel. More variety in shows.
Location: The hotel is far from everywhere. You need to take a hotel taxi that will charge you 90 USD for return trip to Playa del Carmen.
Check in was at 3 pm and room was not ready until 4 pm. Room safe was not working so we had to wait 1 hour more to get passports to the safe and been able to leave the room. The sliding door to balcony was not working during the whole stay. There was a leak on the ceiling where the safe is located (I think due to AC condensation) and some of our documents got wet. We were invited to a 1.5 hour presentation to get a membership to the vacation network, and we accepted because they were giving us $300 credit to SPA good for 2 massage and 2 night stay in the hotel for the future. It turned out that massage in the hotel are 169 USD a piece and if we wanted 2 massage we had to pay 40 USD. To get the 2 night free stay you have to pay a fee of 199 USD, which nobody told us about. The hotel does not have a theater, and they improvise the lobby area for shows. By the way, we came from Texas to experience Mexican culture, not to see American shows. They have lack of beach towels. They don't require a card to check them out and that is why they don't have enough. The buffet options are very limited, but if you like hot dogs, fries, fried chicken, and hamburgers this hotel is for you. Overall the hotel is ok but not comparable to Riu or Barceló chains, not even close.

Terrific resort but not for beach lovers.

Pros: Cleanliness, room design, pools, staff, kids club.
Cons: Beach and cold food. Breakfast choices- most mornings there was no bacon or sausage available which was surprising.
Really great place to stay, staff were wonderful. Terrific pools, complex and room. Food choice were good but the food itself could have been hotter, it always seems to arrive on the cold side. We spent a week there and never left the complex. Kids club was excellent, my son didn't want to leave.

Second time at the Dreams we had a great stay and everything was perfect , clean rooms food was great and service was excellent . We have stayed in several of the AM resorts and are never disappointed . Dreams Riviera Cancun is a wonderful family vacation !

facilities gorgeous, entertainment and no music disappoinent

The facilities are beautiful. Food and beverage as expected for all inclusive. There was not enough entertainment, expected music at the pool areas, Vegas night consisted of one table with staff not knowing how to play, musician stunk, kids dance party they ran out of prize for 8 yr old winner. Also wifi and app was huge disappointment, never got cell service as stated is included. Also ATM did not work and had difficult time and run around trying to get cash.
