Friendliest staff

Pros: Dinners were excellent, nice enough beach, immaculate rooms.
Cons: 30 minute timelimit on kayak rentals was very disappointing. $15.00 charge to rent SUP's is excessive. Anything non-motorized should be free.
Location: Tulum ruins close by
Excellent, attentive staff. The hotel is very nice and the meals at the restaurants are excellent (skip the buffet even for breakfast). Mario works day and night to make the resort fun and friendly.

grounds impressive but misleading

Pros: Selection of food at all venues; variety of bar service; day and evening activities; lush grounds; large pool area; comfortable beds; front area
Cons: Designated smoke area only; removal of all slippery walkways and floors in rooms; more staff learn English, hand rails in shower;
Location: nothing could be accessed by walking, excursions available at cost, ruins near, very secluded
Reservation made in June 2015, request for king bed, not received. Room did not have a tub, ceiling had a leak which almost caused a fall due to extremely slippery floors throughout including the shower, no hand rail to catch oneself on. Check in took almost 1/2 hour, passports given to another couple, lucky this was noticed before departure to airport!! Room swipe cards had to be re-programmed up to twice a day for 7 of 10 day stay, very inconvenient and time consuming with always the same excuse; " near your cell phone or in camera case", did not have a cell with us and keys kept in hat pouch. Three times went to front desk to complain about disruptive next room guests, asked to be moved but were told there were no rooms, even with people coming and going out every day! Noise continued for 8 of 10 days. Walking surfaces extremely slippery after rains, people falling. Smoking was allowed at kiddy pool, health issue, should have designated smoke areas only. Food was excellent with friendly personnel, service slow at Bordeau. Even though this was all inclusive, pressure on to keep tipping, very uncomfortable feeling. Grounds kept very beautiful. Beach area very small, pictures show hammocks and beds on beach, these are for "preferred guests" only or for a cost and reservation. No identification needed to enter a room when maid in, anyone could walk in and out with other people's belongings.

Overall hotel was not a 4 star---3 star----I emailed hotel prior to our arrival regarding New Years Eve - The hotel stated prior to our arrival -- Party would be included with stay --- upon arrival there was a $50 per person charge for the New Years Party --- very disappointing..

Hotel inclusive 5 star but thought 4 star

Great for family and value as all inclusive would have been fine but quality and preparation of food is a bit disappointin. Eg sushi bar serves sushi with smoke salmon instead. Spa is 5 star hotel London and New York prices and more ! And finally the staff have to be reminded a lot, so poor follow up. More training better food is the answer !

Hotel with pleasant gardens and pools near the sea

Very friendly staff, reasonably good food and drink in terms of variety and overall quality. Disappointed on three fronts; room wasn't normally cleaned until 3-4 pm, beach in not good (incredible amounts of algae and rocks, so unable do do more than take walks on the sand) and the gym is small and poorly equipped. I booked a couple's massage and romantic dinner... Both were quoted in U.S. Dollars, beware of the hotel, they then convert this price to pesos at an extortionate rate of 17 (versus market rate of 14) therefore adding a 20% margin in one swoop!! Would not recommend, there are many better properties in this part of the Rivera.

me encanto el hotel pero en los 4 dias nunca tuve agua caliente, nunca hicieron caso, la persona de room service grosera y cero actitud. La limpieza fatal, todos los dias habia arena aunque ya habian hecho la habitacion. El dia que llegue se tadaron casi dos horas en darme el cuarto hasta que fui a pelearme... me habian dicho que la playa de tulum era la mas bonita y la verdad es ma mas feita, la arena sucia y como que no la limpian mucho.

Location: Mayan Ruins Cenotes Downtown Street Papaya Playa Resort Hartwood
The resort was beautiful. Very clean. And the staff were outrageously kind (we loved Ruben)! The worst part about the resort was the food at World Cafe (buffet). The food wasn't BAD, but it definitely wasn't the greatest. It is all pretty plain and bland. However the Italian restaurant was AMAZING! Definitely recommend checking out the Italian Restaurant.

Beautiful resort and friendly staff

Pros: Friendly staff. Good location. Delicious restaurants (especially French & Italian).
Cons: Very pleased with our stay and no needed improvements. Rocks in water is outside the resorts' control.
Location: Great location but rocks in ocean at waist-high level. 5 minute drive from Tulum which is a must-see.
We had a wonderful time at the Dreams Tulum Resort. The room was excellent with a pool right off our patio. The staff was very friendly and more than accommodating and the restaurants and food were fantastic. The only downside to this particular location was the beach. It's a beautiful beach but if you plan to wade very far into the water be careful as their are large rocks once you get about waist-high. You'd probably be okay with water shoes but can be painful without.
