Excellent as always

This was our fourth trip to this resort and it did not disappoint. We had a great time and found both the facilities and the staff to continue to be excellent. The beach is really nice and comfortable. They seem to have some issues with some kind of seaweed washing up, but the work very hard to try and keep the beach clean. My only complaint is that the Wifi was a bit spotty and very inconsistent. In general it continues to be a great resort and we will definitely go back.

Beautiful Mediterranean feel beach resort

Felt like home friendly very atmospheric quaint nooks despite how large it is Loved everything but pads on beach chairs are not comfy and non pad chairs need replacing And they need to remove all the boxes the beds are on We had to ask for a step stool to get into bed

Amazing Resort, you will want to come back!

Pros: The daily "Excellence Times" lists all the daily activities in the hotel. We can plan our daily schedule other than just staying in the pool.
Cons: The bed is too high. The beach has a lot of seaweed. Maybe it can turn to an active of showing how to use this material to make a dish.
Food materials and cooking is outstanding. Modern Mexican-style architecture creates the beauty and identity of the resort. Entertainment team brings you a lot of fun. Special thanks to entertainment team Monica and Javier they brought us a lot joy there.

5th time at an Excellence Resort, first time at Riviera Cancun. Overall experience was the best yet at this resort -- overall meaning beach + building architecture + room + service. Already planning my next trip back!

Beautiful resort

Pros: The staff is amazing. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as good as possible.
Location: Lots of day tours available
The resort is beautiful! The rooms are extremely nice! Lots of delicious food options and great staff!

Vispi Stay

Pros: Cleanliness of Everything, Awesome Staff, and the list goes on and on.
Cons: I love Tito's Vodka and Miller Lite and neither of these were available during our stay. My wife loves Mucato wine and was available for a charge.
Location: Stayed at the resort the entire time and enjoyed the pool, shows, and resturants.
This was one of the best vacation my wife and I have ever had. The resort was beautiful, the staff was amazing, the food at all of the resturants was delicious. We cannot wait to come back.

One of my favorites so far

Pros: I really like how friendly the staff was, and how they make a special effort to keep things clean and operational without invading your space.
Cons: I wish the hot water in my shower worked a little better. We were told to let it warm up, but it never really did.
The entire trip was enjoyable. The resort is very nice and the staff is wonderful. I really enjoyed the lazy river and having the option of hanging by the pool bar with daily entertainment. I would definitely return to this resort.

They falsely advertise

BEWARE! If you have a reservation and you want to upgrade DO NOT pay for the $1000 upgrade to an Excellence Club Rooftop Terrence Room. They advertise you will be in an Ocean Front Rioom but they are selling these rooms in two buildings (6 & 9) that are not Ocean Front. They sell floors 1 to 3 as Ocean View non Coub and the 4th floors as Ocean Front Excellence Club. I refused tthe room but they were completely booked and we had no option but to take the room. They did offer on the third day (we were booked for 5 days) a rooom change but we would be without a room from 12 to 3:30 and I had professional pictures scheduled and needed a room to get ready. I asked for a refund for the upgrade and they refused. They will try to defend their actions by saying they offered a room change 3 days in, but we refused the room to begin with so we shouldn't have ever been put in the room to begin with. This has happened to many other people too! I will never go to any of their resorts because they are scamming people who spend thousands of dollars to get away from stress and then they get there and have to fight for what they paid for. They have refused a refund for the upgrade. They told me it would cost $1000 but when we arrived it was $900. Regardless we were ripped off and it ruined our vacation. Andy, the Excellence Club Manager is so unpleasant and annoyed by customers They will scam you!!!

Fabulous Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the resort. The facilities, the beach, the room, the grounds, the pools, the activities, and the food were all wonderful. The Mexican staff was amazingly friendly, accommodating , and hardworking. We would advise that guests read the resort schedule provided the night before. By doing so, you will know what activities are planned and what restaurants are available. If the previous guest had read the schedule (or just looked around the facility), they would have known that a "sit down" breakfast was available every morning at the Lobster House restaurant by the beach. We enjoyed this option which was in addition to the excellent buffet breakfast that was served daily in the Barcelona restaurant.

Loved Excellence Resort!

Pros: Everything was wonderful - good food, high quality drinks, great service, relaxing spa, nice beach!!
Location: We did the snorkeling/catamaran excursion - it was fun and just as advertised.
We really loved this resort! Lots of pools to choose from, whether you are looking for quiet or a more energetic crowd. Lots of pool chairs and beds everywhere so it was easy to find a place to set up for the day. The beach was great - white sand, easy to access, typical seaweed (to be expected) but the crew works hard to clean that up so you can enjoy the waves. The food was good, lots of options for restaurants each night. We were impressed by the hotel's shows and night life. They set up an entire Mexican fiesta one night (went all out) and it was cleaned up again by the morning. We would certainly come back again (next time with friends)!
