All we wanted right at the resort!

Posted Mar 24, 2017
Pros: The staff at this resort was very friendly. We loved the beach, the pool, the food and drinks. We participated in many activities and enjoyed them all
Cons: The rooms & furniture could be updated. The bicycles could use some maintenance. We thought we had ocean front and got a 2nd floor room - need 3rd!
Friendly staff, good food and drinks and a beautiful beach will bring us back to this resort! We loved that we could be at the beach and then snorkel right at the resort. There is so much to do at this resort. We swam with the dolphins, snorkeled with sea turtles, road bicycles, shot airsoft guns and archery. The pools are nice. We love swim up bars and there were 2 of them. We were able to make reservations for 3 nights. The food all three nights was excellent. The other nights were theme nights at the buffet, so there was something different to eat all the time.

Location, Location, Location!

Posted Mar 20, 2017
Pros: BEACH, DRINKS, FOOD, LOCATION, LAZY RIVER
Cons: ELEVATOR, SOFTER BEDS & PILLOWS
Location: RUINS, CENOTES, PLAYA SHOPPING, XCARET, BEACH
Located on the Riviera Maya close to Playa, Xcaret, Cenotes, Ruins, and more. But the BEST part about this hotel is the BEACH! You can swim, snorkel and play here without worry of red flag roughness unlike most other hotels from Cancun to Tulum. The inlet protects the beach and has an ancient ruin on it! How cool is that!?! Our Room 2847 was cool, clean, great pool views, and high end finishes. Hotel had great food, of all types and several entertainment options. The lazy river was neat, party pool was loud and fun, other pool was shaded and quiet. Beach was awesome with hammocks, bar, tiki huts, ruins, shells, boats, jet skis, food shack, spa, games, and private little areas. Drinks were strong and plentiful. Service was splendid but we are tippers, so that probably helps. My bed and pillow was a little firm for my taste. Clean and cool makes up for it. You WILL walk a LONG way to eat or get to the beach but there are golf cart shuttles zipping around and they may pick you up if you flag one down. Our elevator was broke the first few days but last half of trip was working. Pool towels are provided if you ask for a towel card upon arrival. We requested an additional room key, and were given 2 extras that did not work. Not sure of the reason so we just dealt with it. Overall had a great stay, would stay here again, recommend to friends but probably will pick hotel like we always do...based on availability and price. Wins my prize for best overall beach in Riviera Maya!

Very nice location!

Posted Mar 13, 2017
Pros: Location (out of the craziness of Cancun). Beautiful beach. Food!
Cons: More comfortable beds please. Quit bothering me to join the travel club...not why I came there. Adult beverages watered down and cheap liquor.
Location: Bike riding, tennis, archery, bike riding, volleyball, yoga. Mayan ruins are not too far. Love the location far from Cancun craziness.
All inclusive. Great location. Staff very friendly. Constant pestering to join the travel club aka time share was annoying. Check in a bit of a hassle; keys didn't work, room not ready...Bathroom and shower floors need to be updated. Bed worn out and not comfortable; needs to be replaced. Otherwise nice room. If you are planning on lots of free high-end adult beverages for free, not going to happen. Unless you want to pay, drinks are watered down, very little alcohol, and low end at that. I didn't go there to get buzzed but just wanted to mention this. Food in all restaurants/buffet excellent, other than desserts. Plenty of healthy options. Desserts were beautiful but very bland. Noisy concierge outside our room and constant golf cart traffic with staff shuttling guests was somewhat annoying. Many guests however did not feel crowded. Beautiful beach, several pools. Lots of free fun activities for those that enjoy staying active. Windy (red flag) the entire week so no snorkeling. I would stay here again! Plenty of wildlife; monkeys outside our balcony, coatis, iguanas, etc.The place is 1.5 hrs from Cancun, so plan on spending some pesos on transportation as this hotel does not offer any shuttle service. They will however arrange for a taxi for you. Beware; the taxi's exchange rate in often not the same as the real exchange rate. They insisted they were correct. I checked the govt site and they were wrong. Went ahead and paid their higher rate just didn't tip them.

Very nice resort but!

Posted Jan 31, 2017
Pros: Rooms were excellent as well as the grounds, pools etc.
Cons: Beach
Location: Not much close by that appealed to me.
Was not overly impressed with the food. Lots and lots of food but for my taste buds I had a hard time finding food that I liked.

Pretty setting. Misleading advertising.

Posted Jan 22, 2017
Pros: The beach was pretty, and they had plenty of thatched roof coverings with chairs to sit and enjoy either the beach or pools.
Cons: The activities were very hit-or-miss. Advertised activities (yoga, Spanish classes, tennis lessons, bike rentals) were not available when promised.
This hotel has a pretty setting on a rocky, coral, beach. It is presumably good for snorkeling, however every day we were there was a red flag day, so they would not hand out snorkeling gear; for those who had their own gear, they said the visibility was bad (probably because of the wind/weather). If you want to go in the water, you should have water shoes because of the bottom - it is not a place to just enjoy the sandy bottom, and go in swimming. The food was varied, good, and plentiful - it was nicely done for a volume/all inclusive place. We were quite frustrated (as were other guests we talked to), that many of the activities promised were not delivered.

Nice hotel: many activities for everyone/family.

Posted Jan 16, 2017
Pros: Many organised activities, lazy river, ice ream bar and coffee shop. Room 1748 had partial pool and ocean view without need for upgrade.
Cons: Careful of deals offered at beach or pool. Make sure all services are detailed and costed to avoid surprise at check-out time and additional costs!
Location: Much to do on resort including swimming w dolphins, close to Akumal, Tulum including cenotes for additional sightseeing and sport activities if desire
Plenty to do on resort including swimming with dolphins, close to Akumal, Tulum including cenotes for additional sightseeing and sport activities if desired. Great for families. A la carte restaurants not outstanding but OK...some with slower service than others and generally only late reservations available for non-members which can conflict with nightly show if you intend to attend at 9:45pm; buffet always good with lots of variety. Other than champagne the house wine is not recommended but cocktails are plentiful and generally well made to order.
