We were a little nervous about an all-inclusive and being stuck in a resort for a week but were nicely surprised. There was a good variety of restaurants available, some for breakfast, lunch and dinner, others for just dinner. The food was very good with a nice selection in all the restaurants and a children's menu was available aswell.
The hotel was split into 2 areas, the Zen and the beach section. We stayed at the Zen and almost had a private pool for a few days - the pool staff, Alberto, Fernando and Oscar were all excellent and made an impression so be sure to visit the Zen pool if you go. The spa was excellent and very relaxing for my wife.
Playtime on the beach was well provisioned for with a wide variety of water sports for an extra fee although it wasn't over-priced. Jetskis, Parasailing, sailing, diving and snorkeling were all there for trying.
Overall the week there was very enjoyable and we certainly have it on the list of places to revisit in the future. The kids really enjoyed it aswell.

Alex thank you so much for sharing with Expedia Travelers your enjoyment on your most recent stay at Grand Velas. I am very glad that despite your initial fears our all-inclusive was truly a delectable experience in all aspects for you and the family. Certainly as you make plans to revisit the astonishing Mayan Rivera Alberto, Fernando and Oscar along with the Grand Velas staff will be awaiting to serve you in the near future.
