Hello Gumercindo,Thank you for sharing your comments. I have to say that the roach issue is very rare and we were never made aware of it during your stay. Also the maids did not report any roaches present in your room. We are very attentive about this issue as we are still in a tropical and jungle environment. Extermination is done monthly on schedule. Also, it the law. We would have been more than happy to address the issue had you reported it. I'm very sure that what you think is a roach is actually something else. Also, we are in the middle of town and all guests are aware of the action and tourism when they reserve. We do have, as you yourself have mentioned, very happy guests that are actually realistic of where they are staying when they arrive. Hello Verified Stay, sorry we didnt meet your expectations.Unfortunately the bedding can be an error depending on how many people to the reservation. Our superior rooms have 1 and 2 beds. Unfortunately, the decision to put 2 people in a room with 1 bed was an error on our behalf. We would have changed the room when possible but you chose to stay.We know sometimes people get upset and lash out and seems like this is the situation here.In our reports, the bathroom did not smell and the toilet problem was the wads of toilet paper our maintenance removed, we politely asked not to use such large amounts but our advice was ignored, hence the problem with the toilet.And FYI you are not supposed to flush paper here for environmental reasons which again was explained to you. Do we make mistakes, of course, but we at Hotel Cielo always do our very best to rectify any situation to ensure a great stay and is the reason why we rank so well here in Playa Del Carmen.Sincerely,Steven KrisztinProprietor

Thank you Nicholas for taking the time to write your review. Upon reinspection of your room, the A/C was low on gas and we saw a couple of gaps that you mentioned but saw no mosquitoes. Since then we recharge the A/C and added a little piece of weather stripping. As for the ice, all you needed to do is say you needed more and we would have gladly provided you with more, can not understand how this could be awkward. Sometimes it can get a little noisy but all that you have mentioned above clearly is not an ongoing situation or it would reflect in our reviews. We also were told by the reception area that our terrace was a safety issue for you and your family. The distance between the cement columns that create the terrace are to code, so not sure why you felt this was an issue. Our sincerest apologies that you felt you were inconvenienced and you had not enjoyed yourself as so many other Hotel Cielo guests have in the past 19 years. Again, thank you for the review. Hello, we always offer a walk up rate in order to attract the last minute and street shopping guests. It is a regular marketing tactic used by the industry. As for breakfast, we cannot answer for sure with for the restaurante next door as we are two completely seperate businesses. In the past we were able to offer breakfast when they were open but unfortunately, due to the pandemic situation, the government is constantly change the permitted occupancy and it is hard for the restaurante to maintain a staff that meets it standards.
