Nice Hotel

Del Mar is one of five resorts on the same property. Del Mar has access to only the Beach Resort. Pool and beach area were very nice. The buffets had plenty of choice for all three meals. Only advice, first get up early to reserve a chair by the pool or beach. Hotel does not niece reserving chairs. Second, bring your own insulated tumbler to put your drinks it, because they get warm and watered down quick. A great hotel for a short stay.

Back for 6th time

First time i went my daugher was 5 now she wanted to go for her senior trip. It had been 6 yrs since being there.Everything was just as nice as first time except night shows. That used to be a big part of the trip.but just got boring now. Other than that star friends are great especially karen she so cute and really seams to love her job. Spicy taco or nacho was great at trying to keep people entertained on small games. Only thing i didnt like was bartender asking for cigarette to give to other customers for a tip

Cons: This hotel is strict that you must be under 17 for the teen club & 18 or over for the adult club. Be warned if you have a group of 17 & 18 year olds.
Hotel is nice. Location is great! Food gets tiring, but is fine. Lots of choices. For good or for bad - they are strict about enforcing that kids MUST be 18 to drink and to attend the club or 17 and under to attend the teen club.. This was a problem for our group as we had ten, 18-year-olds and two, 17-year olds. They could not attend the teen or adult club together.

Pros: The ocean is amazing. The bell boys are the best and the service they extend for shuttles from your room to restaurants and the lobby was prompt.
Cons: Better customer service. Replace old beach chairs value your customers.
Location: Enjoyed lazy days at beach but plenty to do if you want to spend the extra money
I was disappointed. Upgraded our room to beach front and it was 3 times the amount for upgrade as last year. Our beautiful beach front room was amazing to my regret our welcome fruit basket arrived on departure. Not a big deal but what was is the fact that the iberostar 300.00 resort credit was useless. I received a massage and wanted to use the 50.00 voucher off the service but was told I could not apply it. The service was 110.00 . I chose to book with iberostar instead of using a private therapist for 50.00. As a returning traveler my loyalty to the hotel was not honored. When a hotel offers a resort credit it should be applicable to all amenities. This year the food was different as the same items were served daily. I'm very surprised to see lots of new faces and changes in management which were not for the better of the guests. Running out of top shelve liquor and mixers and not willing to replace it. Beach bar music broke after 2 days and was never repaired. Lots of pressure to attend presentation for preferred travelers. Much time wasted at check out not able to be accommodated for late check out even after offering to pay extra for our 7:30 pm flight. All these issues were never present upon any other visits to this resort . Wondering the why ??

Disappointed

Too big of a property when traveling with children and the rooms were a disappointment for an Iberostar. We usually stay at Riu but decided to try this due to the ratings and the well know name but for the price we paid the rooms, food and service were terrible. The only plus are the pools & the property itself which has plenty of trees/flowers.

The Third Time

Pros: The beach
Location: Not really looking for this since we've already visited most attractions, and now we come to relax.
As repeat guests at Iberostar Del Mar we are pleased to find out that everything is as great as expected. We will come back.

Buen lugar, extraordinario servicio de personal

Pasamos un par de días muy agradables, combinando con el Hotel Paraíso Maya del mismo complejo. Es un buen resort,muy completo en instalaciones, muy agradable para descansar y con un servicio de personal extraordinario. La variedad de las comidas en los restaurantes generales puede mejorar, pero en general está bien. Los restaurantes de especialidad a los que se accede de noche con reserva muy buenos. Altamente recomendable, volveremos

Nice beach and pool

I've stayed here 3 times. It's about 1/2 he ride from airport, good but not great food(it's Mexico not quite US quality). People are very friendly. English is understood by many of the staff. Lots of activities. My son and I especially like the archery. Oh, and the drinks are great!
