Excellent staff, service, and pool.

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: -Easy 30 min ride from Airport -Excellent staff -Value for money -Great pool -Food that pleased the entire family -Really was "all inclusive"
Cons: -They lacked steak knives. Even the steak restaurant didn't have them! If I'm going to gripe about this then the you can consider the rest good! LOL
Location: -We stayed on the resort and were never bored.
Great hotel for families. Lots of activities and entertainment. The service was great by all the staff with every interaction we had there for 7 nights. The food was "bland" in that it lacked spices which is likely good for some guests and kids, but for us it would have been nice for things to have some seasoning especially since we were in Mexico. Unfortunately this blandness was probably by design. :( The pool was wonderful and the activities and entertainment staff was had something going through the day and evening. Drinks were excellent and easily available. The resort was easy to get around and we had no concerns about our kids being off on their own (ages: 11, 14, 16) as they wanted to do their own things at times. There was also a kids club for younger kids that looked very well run as we saw the kids parade through the resort at times doing their organized activities. If you love the beach you'll be frustrated this year that there is a lot of seaweed all over the Cancun area. They work hard to clean it up each day, but mother nature is relentless. However I'd fully recommend this hotel for anyone that wants to travel to a family resort.

Great hotel for families

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The restaraunt were you made a reservation were very good. My favorite meal of the week was the Japanese.
Cons: Everything was great!
Location: We visited Xplor, had an adventurous time, zip lining, swimming in the caves, river raft and ATV's in the jungle.
Great vacation at the Iberostar Lindo! Can't say enough about the amenities and staff at the Lindo. Many pools to use, biggest pool has lots of activities all day. Some of the smaller pools were just as nice but a bit moe quiet if you are looking for that! You will not go hungry staying here, food all day long, including the best ice cream you will ever have! You can sail, jet ski and snorkel right at the resort for a small fee. The shows at the resort are a lot of fun for adults and kids. Definitely a great find. Looking forward to visiting again.

Deceptive and not worth the price.

Posted Aug 1, 2015
Pros: The room was the best part. Was very clean, nice furniture and good temperature.
Cons: Availability of food. They need a poolside grill and bar to hang out at.
Trouble started at check-in where we were informed our three kids were considered adults under hotel policy and we were forced to pay an additional several hundred dollars before we could get our rooms. It didn't matter that we provided their ages when booking the trip through Expedia and the hotel didn't provide the proper rate. Ironically, even though they're considered adults, they're apparently not adult enough to stay in a room without a parent. The legalese allows for other hotel charges, so there's not much recourse except letting the world know of their deceptive business practices. Very disappointing for a resort that was supposed to have such a good reputation. The food quality and availability was also disappointing, although the variety was good. Places requiring reservations were booked before we even arrived and there were relatively few bars or places to grab a quick bite to eat considering the resort size and number of guests. And if you come off the beach starving at 5pm you're out of luck, because the meals don't start until 6:30pm. The room was very nice, but only had 3 or 4 English speaking TV channels. The wait and housekeeping staff were great but that's pretty normal for the nicer Mexican resorts. Overall, we were disappointed considering the high ratings it had received and we won't be going back. If you're going to shell out the big dollars to stay in the region, you'll get more bang for your buck elsewhere.

Nice hotel but...

Posted Jul 27, 2015
At check-in had to pay a few extra HUNDRED dollars because our 14 year old was considered an "adult". My sister traveling with us had to do the same for her 14 and 16 year old. Don't know if this is an oversight by Expedia or Iberostar. Interesting that we had to pay "adult" prices for kids but wouldn't have been able to stay in the adults only resort with them.

unpleasant stay

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Hotel is outdated. Interior is old, rooms smell, air conditioning working very loud in rooms, bathrooms old and smelly with poor drainage in sink and toilet. Towels used and abused. Bathroom lock was broken. Meals just ok. Service slow and rude. No Bell service at check in. Restaurants: poorly lit and barely air conditioned. Empty trays of food. Drinks have barely any alcohol. Cheap alcohol offered. Pools are nothing to be excited about. Kids area far from beach. On our last night there was a fire in a room adjacent to ours and no one felt like communicating with us. I called concierge and was told not to worry. It was hard not to worry when someone is yelling and screaming next door and water flowing in your room.... Avoid this resort.

We had a real good time.

Posted Jul 23, 2015
This was our 2nd stay in this hotel and it was nice to see my kids have fun. Too bad the beach was messy with seaweed all over the shore but they could not have done much. Hopefully next time it will be cleaner.

Nice hotel nothing fancy but clean

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Staff very friendly and helpful, food average nothing really served hot or cold sort of luke warm. Hard to get lounge chairs at the pool areas people up at 5 am placing towels all over chairs to save them for later even though there are signs telling you not to do this😒. Beach area not the best, lots or seaweed and stuff in the ocean there. Overall not a bad place but there are nicer places to stay for the money.

Too many small children

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: Beautiful pool and grounds. also nice beach and water toys for use.
Cons: Staff were friendly but when we needed help were reluctant to help and in some cases rude.
Location: Golf at the hotel is great. Not close to anything else. Better to stay in Playa Del Carmen or Cancun if you want to do excursions away from the hotel.
The hotel was nice, beautiful grounds and beach, and rooms nice. We stayed on the third floor. NO elevators in this hotel and had to move because AC worked poorly. Staff were very reluctant to help and we ended up with our family in two rooms far apart instead of next to each other as requested. Good hotel if you have small kids as there were tons of them there. We had two older teens and would have been happier in some place not over run with 6 year olds. When we left ,the bell boys never came to our rooms to get our bags, and we and friends had to bring down our own bags. Will not stay here again.
