Beautiful hotel on the beach

Pros: The pool, the beach, the jungle the restaurants.
Cons: Beds and pillows could be softer. Buffet food could have more variety.
Location: It seems to be in a good location. We only took a cab to the ferry and 5th ave. It seemed reasonalble.
The grounds at Iberostar are absolutely beautiful. The jungle atmosphere is quite a treat. The animals that free roam are fun to encounter. Monkeys, peacocks, iguanas, flamingos and on and on. The hotel is clean the staff is very friendly. The beds are quite hard which is fine for me however the pillows are also very hard and not comfortable. The buffet food is good but redundant. Get reservations for the restaurant it helps break up the monotony. Over all it was a great stay and I will return as well as recommend to friends and family.

Stayed there for a second time. Better service if you tip. Drinks seemed watered down. Buffet food better than most places. Pay the money to get an ocean view room.

Every thing perfect; pool, beach, food, entertaiment, common zones and natural gardens .. is my 3rd time in a Iberostar hotel and the firts time with problems. One with the suitcase services, almost lost one, and the other with the room ...our one was besides the other hotel services entrie with noise from trucks, lifts, personel loudnees, etc.. all day and night, making very dificult to relax and sleep well, avoid the building 28 (27 and 29) and the hotel is perfect.The hotel was full and we cant change, for a stay of 8 night not a good service, they should look for a long term solution is not fare sales rooms with that level of noise when your offer relax and vacations....

Lovely hotel and location. Beach is perfect with plenty of shade. Hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Nice resort with a mini jungle in the middle.

Pros: I liked the jungle and the animals roaming around this is what got me to pick this resort.
Cons: Breakfast, the bacon was horrible and not hardly cooked I even had them put me some on grill to cook more but didn't help any . Move soccer goals.
Location: Didn't go outside resort, didn't know there was shops outside until we drove past them leaving no one there mentioned shops outside resort .
Over all it was a good stay no real complaints about anything but breakfast. Beach is nice but in front of Quetzal ocean front rooms the area to lounge has soccer goals and people hit you with balls and kick sand on you like you are in their way and don't even say sorry or excuse me VERY RUDE people in this world. We had ocean front room and location to beach was great would not want to stay in a regular room up by lobby because too long of a walk to beach . This was our first time here and I would come back but I like larger size resorts with more things to do if a cloudy or rainy day. The specialty restaurants food was great, the buffet had lots to choose from and what I chose to eat was good. The room was nice and was kept clean everyday. Nice big bathroom with roomy rain shower. I would like to say there was a few employees that made our stay GREAT . Want to thank Sabrina in the entertainment she is the nicest person and always found us to see what we were doing so we could play in the games with her during the day and dance after the shows at night, Pascual at the pool bar ( we had him last year at another resort) he makes awesome drinks and can't remember his name but the guy at the towel and game station by pool was awesome he made us laugh every time we saw him. We stayed the fist and second weeks in January 2017 .

Perfect location close to the beach, but all drinks are terrible.Most fresh and organic juices we had only on breakfast , but during the day it was impossible to find normal drink. I think they made these juices from powder.

Great place to take the family. My wife and 7 year old daughter really liked the jungle experience, the shows at night were very good it was cool to see so many animals each day going for our routine walks through the jungle. The food was good in the buffet and restraints, our cef at the Bonsai grill was not entertaining like the others at all he just simply cooked and served the food. Also we stayed at the quetzal side are room was OK but really getting run down lamps were scientific and broken light switch panels keep falling off when you turn on the switch dirty walls need some painting in room 2225, we are not real picky people just observations made. We still enjoyed our stay at iberostar and the staff is very friendly, wished there was a hot tub that worked that would have been a plus for my bad back .

Much worse than a year ago.

In comparison to one year ago, the personnel forgot English, they are polite but often do not understand what you say. With us, they did a stupid thing. In a half-empty hotel they tried to put us to a room overlooking two commercial parking lots in a NEIGHBORING hotel, the most uncomfortable room in the whole place! Separate word about Expedia. Your representation there is absolute disaster. No office, no desk, nothing. Just the girl with a cellphone and earpiece, sometimes sitting the chair in the lobby. We only had to arrange the time of return shuttle to the airport. Take one: note under our door, we try to find her - no success. Take two: note under our door, we try to find her - she arrives 30 minutes later than the time on the note, and books pick-up at the wrong hotel! Only my poor knowledge of Spanish prevented the disaster. Cherry on the cake: shuttle was late. Will never go there again. The world is full of wonderful places, and it makes no sense to continue this experiment.
