great service, good hotel, not outstanding

The facility is clean and aesthetically pleasing. But the first time I got into bed I felt sand at my feet, which made me this I was sleeping in old sheets. Service was wonderful, but the food was not great. Also, you must reserve the Hibachi restaurant and there was no availability during our stay. Italian restaurant my favorite; for meat eaters the Brazilian restaurant good; the main buffet mediocre; room service ok but quick. Use of the "resort credits" require you to pay a 16% "service fee." I couldn't get any information from the hotel about booking anything or the cost before my trip. Apparently, you have to email their information line 30 days before arrival. Optional tours with the resort credits are limited in selection and days and many require you to arrange your own travel. The spa service (relaxation massage) was good, and use of the spa facilities a bonus. The beach is very nice. If you like to be close to the market and shops, then this is a good place. It is also next to the pier where you can get a ferry to Cozumel. Beach is nice too.
