Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Rooms were cleaned daily. Comfy beds. 2 minute walk to food, bar, beach, senor frogs, shopping, etc. A MUST VISIT. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK.

Great choice, close to the beach

Posted Mar 27, 2017
Pros: Staff was amazing. Great location to beach and 5th avenue. Restaurants were great and the food was very good.
Cons: Maybe some more updating of the rooms
Location: We scuba dived and the staff was able to get us all set up. Tours and many other things water activities and guest services can easily set it up.
The check in process was easy and quick. Our room was on the floor with a door straight out to the beach. Very nice. The only bummer about that was that we didn't have a patio. There was a bench right outside but there were too many ants to make it desirable to sit on. But, that's ok - we didn't spend a lot of time near the room anyway. Food was excellent in all restaurants. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The only thing we didn't like was having a jacuzzi in the middle of the room, would have preferred a couch. The toilet start to run and wouldn't stop but we called the front desk and it was taken care of immediately. Great location and easy to walk in to town. I was surprised by how quiet it was at night. We were never disrupted by noise and slept well. Beds were very comfy. Would be a place we'd go back to visit.

Great hotel located on the beach

Posted Feb 15, 2017
This is the 3rd time that we've gone to Mexico and out of those hotels this one is by far the nicest we have stayed at. The pool was not over crowded so you weren't fighting to get chairs, the food was awesome and I can't say enough great things about the hotel staff. All of the staff went above and beyond to be sure that we had a great stay. A shout out to the girls at the pool! Nora and Pearla made sure our group were never out of drinks and did an awesome job taking care of us!

Amazing

Beautiful location, staff are fantastic. Lots of choices for restaurants. The only things that need to change is have sanitizer at the entrances of the restaurants. The other one no smoking in the pool or around the pool. Especially with children running around.

great service, good hotel, not outstanding

Posted Jan 1, 2017 on Hotels
The facility is clean and aesthetically pleasing. But the first time I got into bed I felt sand at my feet, which made me this I was sleeping in old sheets. Service was wonderful, but the food was not great. Also, you must reserve the Hibachi restaurant and there was no availability during our stay. Italian restaurant my favorite; for meat eaters the Brazilian restaurant good; the main buffet mediocre; room service ok but quick. Use of the "resort credits" require you to pay a 16% "service fee." I couldn't get any information from the hotel about booking anything or the cost before my trip. Apparently, you have to email their information line 30 days before arrival. Optional tours with the resort credits are limited in selection and days and many require you to arrange your own travel. The spa service (relaxation massage) was good, and use of the spa facilities a bonus. The beach is very nice. If you like to be close to the market and shops, then this is a good place. It is also next to the pier where you can get a ferry to Cozumel. Beach is nice too.

ocean view blocked by locals.

Posted Dec 27, 2016
Not a good hotel. Food average with a couple exceptions. Beach crowded with locals who park right in front of the beach loungers. Rooms that have two beds are only double beds-way to small. Service is spotty. They grew too fast and haven't caught up with service staff and quality yet. Way better places to stay than here. The pool area separates the rooms from the beach. You have a long way to get to where you want to go

Great resort fantastic location

Posted Nov 28, 2016
Pros: Clean and comfortable, with a great beach
Cons: Nothing
Location: Located just near the Cozumel ferry terminal. Just a few blocks off of Playa del Carmin's shopping.
We had a wonderful week in playa del carmen at the playacar palace. The staff were great very helpful and overall a great stay.

Nice hotel, great service

Posted Nov 23, 2016 on Hotels
Overall we really enjoyed our stay, staff on the whole are fantastic great service without before by over the top. We enjoyed the fact the resort wasn't pretentious and was fairly relaxed but you still felt special. Comfiest bed we have ever slept in too! Great location if like us you like to have a wander, you literally step out of the door and you are in playa del carmen, although once in the hotel you wouldn't know it. If you have stayed in other resorts in Mexico this one is definitely not quite as "mega" as some of them however they were constantly working on the hotel. Food was fantastic, didn't have a bad meal do find the Mexican restaurant it's worth the search! And great drinks your cup won't go empty! The negatives (that I'd of liked to know): the ferry port is literally next to the hotel this is the view from your sunbed and can be noisy. The pool is small, and very shallow, the 2nd pool in front of the beach isn't a pool it's ankle deep. Resort great in the week, at the weekend I felt like i was in Ibiza with loud music and people calling in the pool they were so drunk... we went out... hotel is great for Tulum and Akumal! Entertainment team are not too in your face but because the pool area is so small you can't get away from it unless you go on the beach. A note on resort credits, you pay the 16% tax, you don't have to use them but if you want a spa treatment or to do a trip they are worth it. The spa and gym are great! Despite any negatives we would go back!!
