Beautiful Condo Complex.

Posted Apr 19, 2017
Pros: It really isn't a hotel, per se, its a condo complex. We liked the view of the pool and beautiful grounds And the pool was amazing!
Cons: Wish the kitchen had more cooking utensils and pots/pans. The staff doesn't wash dishes for you, so we wish the dishwasher detergent was provided.
Location: There is nothing to do within walking distance. Plan on getting a taxi or renting a car to go downtown where the restaurants and shopping is located.
We had a 2 bedroom/3 bath(!) condo with a full kitchen and a great view of the pool and grounds. Spacious balcony with jacuzzi tub and hammock! The pool was fantastic, looks just like the pictures! A lot of shallow areas to lay right in the pool and great for little kids too. A very very short walk from the pool to the beach! So try to get one of the buildings closest to the pool. Very quiet and relaxing. Beautifully maintained grounds too! Great place to go WITH COMPANY because for whatever reason, although the complex has many many units, there were hardly any people there! I don't think there were ever more than 20 people in the pool and we were 5 of them! Even though we read other reviews that mentioned that the complex seemed empty, being that were there the first week of April, spring break, we assumed there would be more people. There's no music playing the food/snack bar at the pool was never opened. The only place to get food is at the Beach Club restaurant on the beach. There you will find people and good food and music on the weekends, but it closes at 5pm. Because of this, we went Walmart downtown and bought some food and beverages instead of going into town for every dinner. Taxi ride to the downtown Playa, and 5th Avenue, is about a 12 minute taxi ride through some pretty low income neighborhoods. Overall, we'd stay here again, but only if we brought family or friends to hang with! Not too many staff around and they don't speak very much English.

It was the perfect choice for us.

Posted Apr 15, 2017
Pros: In all aspects (front desk, maids, cashiers, waiters) the people working here were so helpful and always kind, especially to the kids.
Cons: It would be nice to have more kitchen items like hot pads, kitchen towels, a cheese grater and dishwasher soap.
Location: Walk south on the beach for a bit & there's a place offering massages 2 for $60 USD. Do it! It's fabulous.
We're a family of 4, travelling with a family of 5, during our kids spring break.* Initially, we considered an all-inclusive hotel, but decided to take a chance on this option because it seemed to be a great balance of the space of a condo (2 bedrooms/3 baths/laundry room and full kitchen) with some conveniences of a hotel. We were quite pleased with our decision. After a trip to Walmart to get all our food and booze (cheap) for the week, we were able to save money by preparing 1-2 meals/day in our room. Also, we didn't have to constantly worry about keeping the place clean (like I would in a private condo) since we had maid service. We visited a couple of the nearby all-inclusive hotels and people were packed in tight and it appeared to be very difficult to find space at the pools if you didn't stake your claim early. But the pool at Pure Mareazul provided the kids so much space to play and swim, we never had a problem finding a spot to lounge, and we could always see the kids no matter where they were in this enormous pool. (Also always plenty of spots on the beach.) We didn't want a car for entire week, so asked the front desk if they could get us a car for just a couple of days. They arranged everything. The car was waiting at our door on the morning we arranged and picked up two days later at the same spot. Completely hassle free! *In addition to the Americans/Canadians it is also break for many of the Mexican schools between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday.

Great place for a family!!

Posted Apr 14, 2017
Pros: The accomadations were great. Daily housekeeping. We like staying at hotels with kitchens and loved the space of our room. The kids loved the pool!
Location: The location is great for families. There is no "scene" and you have to take a $10-$15 taxi to downtown, which is just fine for how often we went.
We traveled to Playa Del Carmen with another family and choose to stay at this hotel because it was a 2 bedroom condo. The "condo" was very updated and spacious and a perfect place for sleeping kids in separate rooms and being able to hang out with the other family (large family room and eating area plus a nice kitchen with the essentials). The back patio was great with tables and chairs and we booked a ground floor room with a pool which was awesome. We were booked next to our friends, so it was great to jump back and forth between rooms. The grounds were well maintained and large and the kids enjoyed running around. The pool was a hit-very big and not crowded. There is also the beach club that offers meals, which is a great option if you don't cook in (it's really the only restaurant option besides ordering at the pool). The beach was very nice as well and all the hotel staff was helpful and friendly (it helps to know a little bit of Spanish or at least have a phone to google the words). Really no complaints about this hotel. We had a great time and would come back for sure!

Nice accommodations, rude front desk, ghost town

Posted Apr 9, 2017
The condos are beautiful, clean and very comfortable - but the pillows are horrid. We were there on spring break and the gigantic pool was a ghost town. Not a single person or any service. The complex is enormous so it felt like a ghost town. The beach club by the water is nice with friendly service. Food is fair. So, plan to bring your own food bc once you're in the complex, it's a long ride out! Closest market or restaurant is all the way in playa del Carmen, a 15 min drive. They say more people come during high season, but I wouldn't count on it. If you want 100% isolation, this is perfect. If you want access to experience or ambiance, not so much.

Cons: There was only one restaurant available during the time we stayed and it had limited hours.
We had a wonderful time as a family. There were 11 of us in 2 2 bedroom condos and it worked out perfectly for spending time together at the pool and on the beach. It was very quiet.

Loved the condo!

Posted Jan 15, 2017
My family and I stayed for 6 days and we had a great time . We had the suite with the pool and my 1 year old son enjoyed it very much . The condo was huge , clean, and modern. I loved the part that the residence was private and we went to sol playa a couple minutes away to eat breakfast . The staff was great and attentive .

Spacious apartment

Posted Nov 22, 2016 on Orbitz
We enjoyed our stay here, as the rooms were very large and well equipped. We recommend renting a car if you stay here, or stocking groceries, as the food options onsite are extremely limited. Also, there is no ATM so get cash before you arrive. This property seems more of a time-share/apartment type than a full hotel. Otherwise, the facility and grounds were lovely and we would stay again.
