Upon arrival and first impressions, this resort glows with promise of a good vacation. Check in was a breeze, and the lobby, sort of a hodgepodge of elegance, but fun! However, I did run into a few issues that I just couldn’t keep to myself.
This resort sits on a gorgeous beach, but they really need either palapas or umbrellas or canopy beds. They rely on the patch of palm trees on the beach to shade their guests and as we all know, the sun moves, so you are constantly having to adjust your lounge chair. The proof is in how almost every guest I walked by during my stay was sun burned, quite likely because they fell asleep under those palm trees. Invest in shade.
Buffet food was not good at all. There was no level of quality ingredients. Even the desserts were bad - which I have never experienced at an all inclusive resort in Mexico, and I travel there once a year at least.
My last upset, was the gym. Oh sweet lord the picture on the website is MISLEADING. The room is tiny, weight machines are ancient, one of the aerobic machines was caked with what appeared to be mud, and their rusty dumbbells only go to 50. You could see people walking in immediately regretting their decision. It was a travesty, to be honest.
Staff, always pleasant, property grounds are gorgeous and clean. Bar staff, excellent. My suite was actually very nice, despite my bed sheets feeling like sandpaper. Those sheets and the sunburn I had from falling asleep on the beach, was a bad combination.
