Beautiful beach resort!

Our stay was perfect!! The staff is excellent, the rooms are gorgeous and relaxing, and the entire resort is so beautiful. The food was phenomenal, each restaurant was different but all fantastic! My recommendation would be to call a couple days prior to your trip to schedule restaurants/times as this will allow you to eat when and where you please (all restaurants require reservations). The pools are pristine with plenty of chairs, umbrellas, and floats. The beach and ocean are perfect (with plenty of chairs and shades too!!). We loved our beach paradise!

Cons: When booking, Expedia said a $500 Resort Credit. Upon getting to the resort it is actual a $500 Resort Credit on discounts. This is VERY misleading!
The views from the pool to the beach are breath taking and the food at the restaurants is very good! I will definitely be back.

Beautiful location with wonderful staff!

This was our second visit to RH and it was just as wonderful as last year. We were in Villa 22, which was recently remodeled. Brandon was our concierge and took care of all of our reservations. The small private pool was just as lovely as the larger pools. The breakfast buffet is our favorite. And the sushi making class was our most enjoyed hotel activity. The shopping across the street, inside Playacar, we liked better than 5th Ave. Go, you'll love this vacation!

Amazing, romantic, secluded, peaceful!!!

We returned yesterday from spending 4 days here celebrating our 12th anniversary. We had the most amazing time. This place exceeded our expectations and we felt incredibly spoiled while we were there. The rooms, the service, the property, the quality of food (from the wings/quesadillas by the pool to the seafood in the reastaurant), massages on the beach, the restaurant options, top shelf liquor options, and absolutely NO mention of timeshare/timeshare selling. We also felt very safe there. They offered a "$500 credit" with our stay. My husband and I knew there was a catch but I spent quite a bit of time trying to find out what this promotion was. I called expedia prior to our trip, and I was VERY annoyed they didn't know what the promotion was (since they were highlighting this feature on with multiple resorts, I figured they should know the details). When we asked about it at the resort, they required us to show them the papers that offered it to us (again, irritating since they knew exactly what the promotion was). All it was is a promo offering 20% off spa services and 15% off laundry services. The total savings can't exceed $500. So definitely very misleading. Massages were $126 and we for 20% off. We definitely saved some money on wonderful massages, but the promotion is most certainly misleading and the only tarnishing thing about our entire stay. This hotel is too awesome to offer that kind of deal. So if a future customer sees that offer, don't get your hopes up

We had a wonderful experience at the Royal Hideaway Playacar. First and foremost the service was amazing. We never wanted for anything. Every employee was kind and so willing to help. We easily checked in early and had a few reservations changed.The food was my husband's top priority for this trip and he said it was wonderful. I totally agree. We loved every restaurant we ate at. The resort was clean and we'll kept. We loved the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be making this our go to hotel in Mexico. Thanks so much for the fabulous memories.

Wonderful vacation at the Royal Hideaway.

Excellent staff, location and dinners. The rooms were very comfortable and the grounds are nice. Really need to work on the breakfast menu. It was a buffet with below average food. Other than that one very minor detail, the experience was fantastic. We highly recommend the Royal Hideaway.

Pros: The beach was beautiful
Cons: The rooms need updating. The gym was small with only 2 working treadmills.
Location: Location was good.
The Air conditioner in our room was broken. Entertainment and dancing was non existent. Overall the hotel is very old and needs many updates.
