Excellent service. Beach front hotelPosted Nov 18, 2015
The Royal Hideaway met and surpassed my expectations for service, food and quality all inclusive. The staff was attentive, kind and anticipated every need. The restaurants served NYC quality food and service. The menu featured several vegetarian and vegan options.

Quiet smaller resortPosted Nov 10, 2015
The resort is smaller when compared to other places we have stayed in the past. It is showing it's age a bit, but there was constant work toward maintaining the facilities. The staff was courteous and attentive. The food was excellent . Amenities were nice. If you want to stay that is quiet just to relax it is worth a visit.

Best All-Inclusive ever!Posted Nov 2, 2015
Pros: Constant attention to every detail. Variety and quality of food. Canopies on the beach.
Cons: When it was time for us to leave, the staff asked that same question. We just replied, "It couldn't have been better!"
Location: Shops in Playa Del Carmen. Ferry to Cozumel. Excursions to the ruins or snorkeling and scuba diving. Parasailing, jetskis, kayaks, paddleboarding.
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel like "Royalty"! Every single member of the staff does their utmost to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Before we could ask for ANYTHING, they anticipated our need/desire.Our room was meticulous and comfortable. All of the restaurants served world-class, gourmet food. Not at all your typical all-inclusive dining! We needed a relaxing, stress-free vacation and that is precisely what we had. Each meal, especially dinner, was an excellent and unique experience. We had one day on the beach when the water was loaded with seaweed. The staff worked continually to clear it. Thankfully, in a day or so, the water was clear and warm and gloriously soothing. The pools each had a different feel - all sparkling clean! Two for swimming and socializing, just steps from the bar, but the waiters kept checking to see if you wanted anything to drink. And a couple of "relaxing pools" surrounded by lush palms, quietly tucked away from everything and everyone. If you need to unwind, clear your mind, and get rejuvenated...this is the "Hideaway" for you!

Pros: Staff and dining options
Cons: Maybe have one restaurant were you could where shorts.
Location: Beautiful beach and many things nearby to do.
This is a wonderful Resort, from the minute my husband and I stepped into the Royal Hideaway we were impressed. The staff is all about making you happy and comfortable.Every person we encountered were terrific. We have to shout out to Benito, Javier and all the other wonderful staff members. I have never felt more at home than we did here. Everyone knew our names by the second day and we truly felt welcomed by all. I can't say enough about the staff or the food, fabulous food. We are already looking forward to going back to be with our new friends. This is truly a wonderful place !

This place is for people 65 years of age and up!Posted Oct 3, 2015
First of all our concierge William is amazing, so kind and resourceful, such a great person. If you ever decide to stay at this hotel ask for William to take care of you. Now: there is no activities AT ALL and when we asked to play volleyball we were told the management doesn't allow that, when we played music around the pool area the management showed up and said there are complains about loud music, how loud can your iPhone get (this was at 5PM). The place it's self is gorgeous but it's for old people, it's almost like a rehab center. Make sure to bring pants because no matter how hot it is outside you are going to have to wear pants to any dinner reservations you make, even if you have really nice short pants or shorts you won't be able to eat anywhere in this place. The building and the beach is just amazing the staff is amazing and they all work so hard but this is the true example of a management running the place down. Don't get confused, it is all adults meaning all adults over 65 years of age. If you are looking for a rehab center this is perfect they will take good care of your. Again William thank you.

Paradise at Royal Hideaway Playacar!Posted Sep 26, 2015
Pros: Classy, quiet, upscale ambiance
Cons: Upgrade bathrooms, then this would be one of world's best!
Location: .Be sure and take the 25 min walk north to Playa del Carmen on the Banion tree lined sidewalk and see the upscale homes in this gated town.
Based on our past experiences at Azul Cancun, Iberostar Grande, Secrets Capri x2, and Secrets: x2--here is how I would rate RHP: Overall 4.9 (would be perfect 5 if bathrooms updated) Room 3.5 (bathroom needed updating) Service 5+ (exemplary / magnificent / best ever experienced Grounds 5 (treed walkways) Food 4.5 (breakfast 5, lunch 5, Grill 5, Palazzo 5, Azita 4, Ventana 4) Personal conceirage 5 Pool 4.5 (2 small adjacent, one is infinity, alas, no swimup bar but bar is close) Definitely for 35 and over crowd looking for quiet, romantic, very upscale experience. Secrets Moroma is comparable but Hideaway is for an older crowd demanding exquisite service. Stan Kusch 9/24/2015
